Thread: Smuggler/Doctor? Your thoughts...

Come on guys let me have it. I'm master riflemen/master doctor atm...I've played around with the smuggler and i gotta say. I love it. But...would it be worth it to go Master Smuggler/Master Doctor? I tried smuggler CM, but gotta say, debuffs were a joke...sure, you can use em, at the cost of not attacking lol. =) whats the fun in that. Doctor buffs are sweet with riflemen, would they be just as sweet with Smuggler? I'm willing to take an attack range cut for this...your thoughts.

Honestly, I don't know what your lookin' for but I think you are really going to miss the damage you do with Rifleman (especially at the distance you can do it). Smuggler's aren't known for the damage they dish out (unless you get us in a corner) so that's the sacrafice you will be making AND there is no inbetween where you can dabble Smuggler/Rifleman/Doctor and still keep two masteries.
However, being a Smuggler is damn cool and about to get even cooler.
That said...How cool are you?

Yeah, i do enjoy the damage dealt at the long range. PvP with riflemen/doctor pistol 4xxx is pretty sweet. ahh, maybe I'm not so cool though after all. It seems likea gentlemen's club, and i wasn't invited. Maybe i just don't get it lol =) Then what would be a good smuggler spec?

I dunno I'm going to try Smuggler/CM but with a line of what mixed in i dunno. Prolly rifles, but maybe Doc. I know CM is not the best right now it seems like some things are pretty broken but wouldnt that make it a good compliment for smuggler

I am a Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/BH 0130. It's a nice little combo. I'm not a PvP'er, though.
Smuggler and BH go well together. BH has some nice specials.

If the majority of your time is spent grouping then smuggler/doc is a fantastic template. However, it brings little to the table as far as solo power.

Well, if you want to give up your heals (which is hard to do- I was master medic and totally addicted to healing myself in battle) Smuggler/Rifleman can be a pretty wicked ass combo. You could combine that with the best line of Medic if you still want to heal yourself or add two lines of Commando and really be lethal (I'd hate to be on the receiving end of this template when you had a Acid Rifle in your hand).
I might try that combo out myself...

I wasn't saying CM was useless. A good CM can prove me wrong i'm sure. I dueled a CM the other day that actually got some nice stuff off (Fire/poison disease) Before II incaphim. If I wasn't a doctor, I'm sure all of it would have made a difference. Plus don't forget that ranged heals are money in PvP. We doctors have to dabble two novice skill boxes to get those, at the cost of other combat abilities. You'd have cool rifle skillz, the ability to use concussion shot at a long range, and can heal yourself and others quickly and well =) CM's aren't broken, if its done right. And everyone gets owned by Jedi anyway, so its all about what you love to do.
