whenever I mount or dismount a vehicle?
Not only is it extremely annoying visually but it causes horrible lag.
Damn good thing we don't have this same physical effect in RL, we'd park, get out and stumble blinded into oncoming traffic.
Anyway, I sure wish they'd get rid of that crap, I fail to see the purpose.

This is a bug (remember, this is beta). When you mount/dismount the last particle effect(s) that affected you plays out. It seems that the one you just experiencedwas the Bacta Spray effect, the new lag attack. 
I'm not a big fan of these new particle effects at all though, and I think they should be removed.

Yea I've seen this too and I don't really like it. Make sure you /bug report it and hopefully they'll get to fixing it before live. Although, this isn't really a serious issue so they'll probably get to it after a bunch of other things. As for the bacta spray, I've never seen it and I've experienced this particle effect too so I'm guessing it's just a particle effect they associated with mounting a vehicle, either by accident or intended. I'd do a /bug on it and feedback it in the questionaire when you log off test.

Yeah, I bugged it.
I think they went WAY overboard with the new particle effects.

It's simple to test this bug. Attack something with anability that has a particle effect affecting you and then mount your speeder, you'll see the particle effect repeated.
Bacta spray looks like a big shining cloud of smoke at waist level spreading out. And it lags the hell out of everyone in the area.

Indeed they have. Though I finally realized what they effects remind me of... Dragon Ball Z.
I mean seriously, we have giant energy balls flying off our characters when we do certain attacks, particle effects that show energy guys dancing around us, beams, blasts, clouds, ect. It's just like that show. And it makes me sick. I hate that show.

Oh god yeah, the little energy guys dancing around us! Damn I thought that was absolutely the silliest thing I'd seen in ages.

I think SpinningClous is referring to the Intimidation particle effect. It looks a lot like those dancing rave ghosts entertainers can make droids project. Probably the silliest particle effect yet.

I don't remember anyone complaining about the states being displayed beside our names pre-curb. Whatever possesed the devs to put all these silly little effects in still boggles me.
