Starting this thread for selfish reasons- as I like to solo and was wondering what other people's soloing experience on TC-ep.3 has been like.
I hope to get on again tonight and give it a whirl- But I also need to grind up 18 SP of an Elite Prof so I won't have to do it after the respec- (if it goes as I think it's going to go).
Stories anyone?

We seem to miss a hard-hitting damage shot, as does our sister prof, Pistoleer.I'm thinking that Rifleman might need to sqeeze into my template.

yep we are mssing some serious damaging shots, but i geuss stopping shot actually stops them in their tracks, now so not that bad except it does uber-poor damage, with a 600 de-10 it does like 300 damage

I was able to solo anything up to and including my combat level in a one vs one enviroment but my energy would be depleted after the battle if the combatant was very close to myCL due to the lack of a heavy punch shot. The danger of course comes in when fighting multiple opponents at the same time when they are close to your own CL. Once I picked up a template that had a heavy punch shot, things got a little easier and I could take on two to three opponenets at a time but would be severely drained and in need of healing afterwords. The combats close to my level were fun and challenging and required good tactics to win. Of course, once I ran across something just one CL higher than me, I would start getting pantsed. So soloing is possible and fun if you can't find a group but grouping seems the way to go if you want to grind xp faster and relatively safer.

I've been wondering a lot about the "respec" my self. Care to tell us how you think it's going to work?

i beleive that all you current SP in combat skills will be given back to you so you can remake you character more or less, i plan on keeping master pistoleer, with master smuggler and if i can i will try and add the 4000 from bountyhunter

I was killing blue stuff from dant missions at the MO. Very easy of course, but some yellows, level 81, aggrod me and I killed them fairly easily as well. My action went down a lot but was enough for the fights. I had mabari armor and frog buffs, using the smuggler DL-44. Stopping shot seems to be the special of choice for kiting and intimidation shot usually hits too. Low blow isn't knocking down still. I haven't tried panic shot or last ditch yet. Fan shot seems to be hitting multiple targets like it should and feign death worked in pve also. The mob stands over you and doesn't leave so that sucks. Overall, soloing even level stuff seems to be pretty good.

Well, I was reading a thread from Starnick the Commando Corr- and he was talking about them only allowing the trade of novice boxes for novice boxes and Elite for Elite boxes. Which is also what the Devs said last Wednesday in the Chat.
I think it would be TOTALLY unfair for it to work this way as hybrids- such as BH and Commando- get screwed- quite well actually.
My temp right now is:
Master Smuggler/Master Swordsman/Pistols 0004 and Marksman 0404
I have 18 left over ('cause I dropped medic)
I'm looking to get:
Master Smuggler/Master Commando/TK 4000/Pitsoleer 3000
That would mean that I would be able to pick up
Master Smuggler/Master Commando and TK 4000 without having to grind but I would have to grind to get the Pistoleer boxes I want.
I HATE GRINDING. I've been grinding one thing or another ever since I started playing this game. I was looking forward to finally making THE temp I want without having to regrind it.
I might just get lazy and go Master Smuggler/Master Commando/BH 4000
I'd be trading Force of Will, Meditate, and Power Boost for the right to hunt Jedi but I really would like to try a Last Ditch, Force of Will combo to see how it works.

Odd, like I posted in another thread I took on a level 78Valarian Compound Guard solo. It did about 20% less damage to me than I to it yet it easly incapped me before being down below 80%. I figure it had about 15k health compared to my 3k.
I tried it multiple times with multiple tactics. I even tried using just the same two shots it used on me to compare damage and misses.
Perhaps it is very dependent on the mob type and not the level?
