I was having a blast with MS/MBH with Novice Carbineer (for the extra +10 speed). Something enjoyable about blinding, bleeding, rooting, then critical shot with a proton carbine, but still not gimped with a pistol

At the moment I'm

MS
MBH
Novice commando
x/x/x/3 In pistols

Planning on using carbines primarily

Novice commando is mainly for the additional speed and accuracy it grants, the pistol skills give me stopping and fan shot. With the timer such as it is on fan shot I think I will be dropping it. Not at the game at the moment, I'm thinking that bh gives an area attack anyways.

After playing around for a few days with this I'm starting to think speed is not a big of factor. I think i had something like 1.4 speed with most carbines as mbh=mc, something like 1.5 (I think) with this template.

Thoughts?

after testing i think im going to drop master tka so my template will prolly be

Master Smuggler
Master Pistoleer
Tka Meditate 4
Novice Medic

i think that leaves a point left over , maybe pump it into a fs box

I see a lot of BH temps in here. Just out of curiosity, how many either have hunted before or would identify yourselves as Bounty Hunters?

BTW, I don't have a problem with other profs taking BH, just curious

As one who will be taking BH pistols, I have not "hunted" in terms of Bounty Hunting (except for working for Jabba, that's one vengeful Hutt), and I wouldn't classify myself as a "hunter". I have three main reasons for taking that line.

1) Exploration pre-req. I like the Terrain Neg for my Smuggler.
2) I want to take as many Pistol-related skills as possible.
3) I REALLY want that title.

The back story is, Renn got the drop on a Bounty Hunter one fine day, and instead of just blasting him into oblivion right there, he struck up a conversation. Something of a friendship developed, and the Bounty Hunter began teaching Renn some of his pistol tricks. He'll finish learning about the time of the CU when I can respec my skills to that line, I already have the new pre-reqs for it.

I was MBH/carbineer for a long time on live and it's still one of my favourite professions. I felt it was time to move on after they introduced Jedi hunting and the great flame wars broke out. I like the whole BH concept and I think the whole underworld thing goes well with smuggler, but most of all I love the diversity of having BH: no weapon is unfamiliar to you.

Also with the upcoming Smuggler revamp I think bounty hunter and smuggler will be the two professions most rich in content. Let's just hope they make it possible for player BHs to hunt smugglers.

I would however not identify myself as a BH (well, not the character that I've got this template planned for). I'm a Smuggler first and foremost.
