Thread: Dungeons/Themeparks/Quests ROCK After the CU!
Oh yea... disclaimer... last I heard the devs hadn't balanced every adventure planet yet. A few days ago the Geonosian Cave on Yavin did not seem balanced yet.
Supposedly, the maximum level NPC/mob you should run into is level 81 in a dungeon. If you see anything over that, I suggest you run!
like that tusken bunker with the CL1 tusken king that didn't attack ack
but still took like 2 mins to kill cause it had 4k ham
ROCKPANTS!
And these 19k ham Gorax that can't even hit me, and even when they can they seem frozen and don't animate
SO FREAKIN GOOD
GIVE ME MORE OF THIS SHT!

Okay man, I was trying to share how much fun I had doing these things.
You can hammer down my sentiment by including every small, broken thing you can think of, but is that really necessary.
There is nothing "wrong" with being positive about this situation. Geezus.

Eh. I went to the Corvette the other day to recon it for a guild run, and um, I disagree. I didn't just get one-shotted for 5200 damage (after armor). I got one-shotted by SIX SEPARATEbad guysall standing in the same room. I'm fine with it being "groupified," but there's nothing a 5-man group could've done that would've made a whiff of difference. "Game over, man!"
I recognize that this is a work-in-progress, but they've still got some work to do before some of these places are balanced. I shudder to think about what the DWB is like now!

I didn't say they were all balanced yet, but the ones that have been kick ass.
The DWB, some would claim, is slightly too easy at the moment, but me and two friends had a blast down there, got fairly far into the dungeon, then then were killed as security backup arrived. It was great ![]()

contrary to some people there were places you could have incredible fun pre-CU.. and there were also soem after (with probably more to come). Maybe its cause I play on TC so much but I always find a way to have fun in small groups of friends be it the vette, gorax hunting, strategizing the dwb, whatever.
Theres also the living in a world, obsessing over intracacies of that world, and working with or against it for long term gain which ultimately is what keeps me here instead of moving off to a console game or something else that offers a lot more instant gratification.
My biggest issues with the CU are not the "fun" of combat (although there are comfort level and pace issuse that I still have with it) - or the bugs which I know will eventually go away (or be obsoleted by CU2) - but that there are so many other levels of the game lost in the translation.
And its everything from going back again and again to kill krayts for even better tissues, to totally invalidating the depth of hybrid professions by making them all combat driven for leveling and removing any use for mid level utility chars (and trying to make due with those chars), to screwing with groups levels even though in the end you didn't have to cause max CL was mac group memeber CL, but leaving it that way anyway.
So now when I get bored of combat, or no one happens to be around to crash the DWB what is left for me to do? Polish my arsenal of capped weapons and useful against 3 creatures armor - or just log off?
(bah.. sorry.. with that I probably totally killed your fun thread... i'll leave.. and promise not to post in your threads for.. um.. 2 weeks... see you in game
Haha, I swear reading what you write feels likea punch to the gut, but you don't have to NOT post in my threads.
It is unfortunate that the solo game you experience sucks so much, and it is valid the concerns you bring up.
Part of the major idea I wanted to convey is that a whole avenue of content has really opened up for me. All of these stupid POI's and dungeons as well as a few (not all yet) of the REALLY hard ones are now playable and enjoyable. This is amazing to me.
To me the CU has changed things. Before I would camp a cave for AA, CA, or loot drops just one-shotting paperboard NPC's that seemed just a background amusement. Now it is a tactical challenge to do the same damn thing which is THE WORLD to me.
Needless to say that's a little different now.
Don't like that all hybrid skills take nothing but combat-related xp anymore. Don't like the bugs. Don't like some of the simplification. But I do like feeling like I have a role. I do like feeling like, even as a half combat/half crafter character, I can do both well enough to have fun. I do like the balance I'm seeing in those parts of the game that are mostly bug-free, and I'm glad to see others are having fun with it as well.

All of the stupid POIs were very playable and enjoyable (when not camped by people who were there only for the loot) unbuffed with a friend and a Stim-B pack or two. Some of the best times I had in SWG, actually.
