Thread: Unusual Template Opinions Please

I am thinking of trying the following:

Master Carbineer

Master Smuggler (never giving it up)

Pistoleer 0-4-0-4

Combat Prowess - Ranged Speed 4

This gives me great CC (Ranged KD's, Stuns, Roots, Snares, AoE attacks...the works) and the following stats with a Carbine in hand:

Ranged Speed: 107 (57+50)

Ranged Accuracy: 270 (205+65)

Ranged Defense: 200 (160+40)

Melee Defense: 195 (155+40)

Smuggler is my chossen profession and that will never change, but I want to be a little different from the run-of-the-mill pistol using, Solo wanabies out there. Carbines have class and add some nice CC elements and additional damage output. Commando was also another choice (which I know has a lot of popularity now) but it just doesn't feel "smugglerish" to me. What do you all think about this template? Viable?

looks good to me.

i've got a similar template idea, except reversing Pistoleer and Carbineer.

i'm going master Smuggler (of course), master Pistoleer, Carbineer 4040.
i dunno what that "comat prowess" stuff is all about... what is that some Force Sensative stuff?

also, a good idea for templates like ours is to invest in corsec gloves and boots (pistol and carbine speed).

Hmm...Corsec Boots and Gloves....there is something I didn't know. Thanks

Yeah, Combat Prowess is Force Sensitive skill. I'll have 4 points left over when all is said and done, so I might as well use them there. Gives me +12 more speed.

I was Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, but the two don't compliment each other as much as you'd think. Too much redundancy.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

I'm going master smuggler, master rifleman, 4-0-0-4 pistoleer

It gives me thelong range from the rifles, allowing me to use theroot, snareandother state effect specials that will insure they stay at distance.Plus i get somegood puredamage specials (sniper shot, head shot)

this +12 speed only costs 4 skillpoints you say?
so how does one go about getting this combat prowess?
does it involve visiting all the POIs and doing those jedi village things?

and if i were to get this, that doesn't mean i'd be a jedi or anything right? cause i'm very adimant about NOT being a jedi. but my character is a Twi'lek, who are known to be better connected with the Force than most other species. so it wouldn't be so bad if Kohs was able to draw his pistol a bit quicker than some others.

your correct, Force sensative does not make you a Jedi. there are some nice mods in the FS skills. so plug away at the FS branches.

To attain any of the Force Sensitive powers, you have to "Feel the inner Glow...the Force is with you". To determine your Force Sensitivity, use the following command: /checkforce

Once you get this message, you're on your way. Check over in the Force Sensitive Forum for complete details on becoming Force Sensitive. I won't ruin it for you by telling you the grind you're in for to gain those powers, but they are worth it (some of them).

And no, you won't be a Jedi. What self-respecting smuggler would even consider it???
