Restraining Shot seems to do little in the way of being effective against a target.
With Concussion Shot I have noticed that sometimes the creature will "break" the root for a couple of seconds and move around, until the root takes effect again.
So the question is will Restraining Shot work on top of Concussion Shot, for those couple seconds that the creature "breaks" the root?
With it being inmobilized, with little moment, I think the creature would move alot slower with it on.

"Breaking" the root is possible by using /burstrun I think, but it doesn't always work.
I guess /burstrun would break the "ensnared" state, too, but I have no idea if it would get more difficult or not.

Is that true? Interesting. I'll have to test that out.
I think mobs "Breaking root" for a few seconds has more to do with lag, though I'm not sure. I find restraining shot useful to fire off maybe 5-10 seconds before concussion wears off, so that when they are no longer rooted it gives me more time to prepare to root them again.

Don't think it is lag for the breaking, the creatures walk when they break the root.

What I do is alternate between concussion shot and stopping shot(pistoleer of course)since they're both roots, but they're on different timers. If they're both refreshing or you have a 3rd target, then restraining shot works too. I've found that the roots and snares work really well when not resisted. I don't think I've seen them break or wear off early yet.

If Concussion Shot is not supposed to be a root, that's a concern with my current template.
I am trying out MBH/MS/Pistoleer 0-4-0-0. This is working out well since I am a ranged junkie, but the root is very necessary. I don't have Stopping Shot, so losing Concussion Shot's root would take a very valuable special out of my arsenal.
Isn't Panic Shot supposed to be the paralyze move?

Right now panic shot is broken....it does no damage for me. It applies the state tho. What I do is fire off concussion short, then a couple lethal shots. I then let the ranged shot cycle a few times. And just about when the concussion shot wears off, hit with overwhelming shot then intimidate shot. This seems to work pretty good against level 54-56 mobs right now. I'm level 56 2344 pistoleer, 2311 smuggler.

Right, its not supposed to do any damage, its probably one of the few handfull of attacks which only apply states, dealing no damage.

Concussion Shot is not supposed to be a root. It's meant to be a mesmerization skill, like the CM Paralyze. It's meant to completely shut down an opponent for a certain amount of time, or until that opponent takes more damage.
It's even written in our job description in the CU Documents. Smuggler is the mezzer. Right now, we have no mez skill.

It will work the same way with my template, just shoot the mobs you root and snare while leaving the mezzed mob alone. Very good control over mobs still if they fix this.
