Thread: FS concerning smugglers

Im master pistoleer, master smuggler. I like it alot, but im grinding FS and it kinda stinks only being able to grind pistol and combat xp quickly. Is there a quick way to get slicing xp to convert? or any other xp for that matter?

I'm in the same boat, Elronddd.
A few months ago I did some math and realized that at my current pace, it would take me about a year to finish grinding out the FS skills... so I kind of gave up. I still hunt and grind with my brother since he's still working on mastering rifleman, etc... and I have been using combat XP to get some commando skills... but it's just a long grind and I'm not going to play six hours a day OR change my template to have teh uber grinding template. Check out the Force Sensitive profession boards, they have lots of tips for getting XP fast.
I considered doing slicing XP... but slicing XP is either gone or going away, isn't it? Besides, it converts to Heightened Senses XP, not the skills that I wanted. Similarly, spice crafting xp converted to FS crafting xp... but if you think about it, you'd need to grind up a LOT of spice crafting or slicing XP in order to fill out those skill trees. Do you really want to slice hundreds of thousands of survival knives? For no money? Although I guess if you were an artisian, you could make knives, then slice them... getting crafting XP and slicing xp... <shrug>
Quickest way to finish it out is to just buy faction points from a recruiter, convert them to combat xp and convert them to FS xp. Although... that would cost around 16M xp for each of the six skill trees you need to fill.

Slicing XP is still granted, despite not being a requirement, and as far as i know, it still converts, but IIRC, it converts to Sense XP, doesn't it?
I doubt, despite the changes, that they're going to stop granting slicing XP for slicing, at least without re-tooling the FS conversions in some fashion first.
I believe you still get Gen. Crafting for making spices and PLKs and clamps, too.

It's also worth noting, that as a Smuggler/CM/Commando, I can also cap rifles and carbine XP at 200K each, which helps a little in banking some extra away.

Smugglers do have a boon when it comes to fs grinding. We max pistol xp at 1.5 mil. Other peeps max their weapon xp at 1.2 mil. That's an extra 10k of fs xp we can get per trip. Of course, adding another weapon type like rifles or carbines would be better but look for the silver lining

Recruiters use to transfer faction into experience... not sure if they still do or not.
But- Pick up CM 4000 and grind healing xp also if you just want to stay with pistols and smuggler.

I haven't seen the option to convert FP to XP since they started letting us buy 1k faction blocks up to our rank caps.

im master bounty hunter , master smuggler, and carbine novice..i get 1.5max out pistol and 900k max out on rifle and carbine...plus 900k unarmed 
so there ya go..4.2 million weapon xp ..pluuus you get too wear 3 armor types

yea, exactly the template I had, and will have again... switched to master carbs just to try it, but BH has specials more suited to my fighting style...
