I looted a bunch of weapons last night, killing imps was fun. I sliced a bunch of them for practice as it's the first time I've been able to be back since the new system. I like the system actually, if slicing is going to be our thing, then this works for me. I want the components to be crafted by players, or salvaged from loot (compete for the same loot for different components for smugglers, weaponsmiths and armorsmiths?), but that will be what it is.

I got back to my city and was hanging around with some guildies and someone asked for a slice. I took his armor and weapon and proceded to begin. I got the slice optionin the radial menu, but nothing happened when I clicked on it. I checked for bio links, and power ups and existing slices. I went searching for a window that had got hidden behind another. I sliced one of my looted weapons some more to make sure I still could. But no matter hwat I did, I could no matter what I did, I couldn't slice his stuff.

Is there a known bug, did I simply screw up, or have I found somehting new?

After CU I stuck it out because my guild friends were still here, the good was good enough and the bad could be worked around.
With NGE:

My guildies hated it so much they quit

They nerfed my uniquness

They nerfed my ability to role play

They nerfed my strategic combat

They disregarded Star Wars canon

As a level 80 smuggler, I have out dueled every level and every profession. Only beated since NGE by a level 90 Bounty Hunter.
