Just wondering what you guys think. I know that it used to not make a difference, but I was looking over the skill trees and noticed that indeed, master smuggler now gets a +25 bonus to both armor and weapons slicing. yay! But have you guys noticed a difference? and do you think it is woth paying a master smuggler when i can get the slice from a regular slicer? (Yes i realize masters are gonna say, "Yeah, of course it makes a difference....")
And it pains me to see that you guys are still struggling with not being able to actually smuggle. I was an old school smuggler since release that refused to give it up, butleftto playWoW after just getting bored. Well, WoW sucks, and I love this game more than ever. Got burned out playing smuggler when the CU hit though, so I respecced cause of my love of PvP.
Good luck fellas, hope your quest to smuggle in a smuggle-free universe pays off.
You are incorrect. Master Smugglers used to be able to slice better than Slice4 smugglers.
Now all random elements have been taken out of slicing.

The difference now is that a non-Master Smuggler will not be able to do the high-level slices. Someone correct me if I'm talking crap here, but I think your slicing skill now directly determines up to which percentage you can slice an item - i.e. slicing 75 would mean you could slice the item up to 75%. A Master Smuggler can slice up to the full 100% - provided he/shehas the necessary components, but that's another discussion...

I don't think there's a difference in the slice outcome itself, because that's always going tobe the same. If you have slicing IV for example, you might come across weapons you can't slice. I'm not sure what the system is for this, but it could be weapons that require a master profession or something. I really don't know, but I've come across weapons I can't slice with slicing IV and am able to slice fully at Master

Well, since masters are the only ones that can slice up to 100% customization, then that means that non masters can't do a level 4 speed slice or a level 3 critical slice, correct? Because that would take it to 100%... Or is the percent thing calculated BEFORE the end result, so that it didn't matter what it would take it to, so that as long as the weapon was 75% or below, a Slicer could take it to full (regardless if it would come out to more than 75%)?
