Had a deal go bad on me about an hour ago.
Rebel Client wanted to RolePlay being smuggled out of an Imperial Town by shuttle. The Imperial city has planted an Imp Outpost in their town facing the ticket terminal side of their Shuttleport. Pretty damn clever if I do say so myself.
Soon as Client shuttle in, they were jumped, killed, and cloned about 1km away in...another Imp Outpost north of town, lol! Client wanted to RP the situation and called me.
So, I'm thinking "No problem, I'll group with you, use my Master Smuggler 95% Scan Evasion and we'll both hop the shuttle out." I go and they get blasted again, wrecking a Swoop this time in the bargain. Luckily, a Dewback was available and we RP'dme leading them on an overland hump wayyy back across planet.
I was wondering if anyone here knows why this didn't work? Is it a TEF situation? Will TEFs trump being grouped with a Smuggler?
Given:
-Client had been killed once by same AT-ST and Stormtroopers that did it when grouped with me.
-Client was Covert the entire time after I grouped.
Basically, I want to know ifI can shrug and tell them that"It's not my fault."

I assume when you say they were jumped, you mean by an NPC contraband scan. Unfortunately, I have had far less success than 95% and have in fact been turned overt about half the time I am scanned. It could very well be you gota bad roll and your protection didn't work as well as you would like.

Er... My city used to have 2 HQs, one either side of the shuttle port (one of them got blown up recently
