Thread: The tag I wear is Master Smuggler

I used to keep it concealed under things like gunsliger or rogue. I decided though a few weeks ago that I would no longer conceal my identity and that I would wear my tag with pride. I even go around on searchable sometimes.

Through doing this I have found though that people havent hounded me for slices. I got one or two requests for training and only a few slice requests. The slice requests were people who knew I was master smuggler and didnt have to search for me.

EDITED: for spelling and such, if you see other spelling errors.. I just cant spell

I have a few questions about becoming a smuggler.

1) Do BH hunt smugglers?

2)Is TKM/master smuggler/master pistoleer a good combat combo?

3)Should i be TKM/master commando/novice medic or one above?

1) BH's do not hunt us.. at least not yet. There is talk of them being able to hunt us in the smuggler revamp but who really knows what will happen.

2 & 3) Play whatever you want to play. The popular ones are the tripple master of pistoleer/smuggler/TK, smuggler/commando, among others. Its all a matter of what type of play you like. With master smuggler you still have plenty of points and can master pretty much whatever else you want. I am close to tripple master but have only half of TK and got novice medic.

Ithink reason peopel hate jedi so much is because most of them are jerks calling every1 noobs cause they have the besttrees andweapons and i saw a few db some afk overt for no reason.

I found novice medic to be very helpful. I can heal myself up to 700 sometimes with stim b's. I like pistoleer also so I keep that.

TKM is handy in jedi hunting. If you can knockdown and then dizzy while keeping them intimidated and such a group(gank squads as they are called) can deal with jedi reasonable well. TKM's can just use Kd2 since it is a knockdown and also dizzys them.

I've kept my Master Smuggler title up since I got it, after doing a number of Profs over the last year n a half, I have to say that Smuggler/TKM/Pistoleer (0444, as Im going for Jedi eventually) is the best combo I've hit upon, for me.

I've been lucky and not had too many bad experiences Slicing for people, most I come across these days are well aware of how slicing works (or doesnt work), and I find not using a fixed price works well as most are pretty generous on tips. A quick trip through Coronet or Theed, will get me a few jobs pretty quickly, and its nice to have a non-combat money maker prof.

With that template you also have a few nice surprises for people in FD, LD, Force of Will, self healing with TKM, and some great defenses. As a tank, your pretty unstoppable. I was Gorax hunting at the weekend, and even when our group went down to myself and a rifleman, we didnt have much trouble taking him down with me tanking.

I dallied with NOT wearing my tag, but the way I look at it, I put hours and days of blood, sweat and glazed eyeballs into achieving the title...so I'm wearing it with pride. If I'm not in the mood to slice, I simply park my tools at home and beg off with a "sorry, no tools," or a simple "no" -- most people seem quite accepting.

I'm personally working the master smuggler/master pistoleer/artisan-merchant line for the present...I'm interested in money. Lots and lots of it. I pray the revamp gives me even greater opportunities to exercise greed...uhhh, entrepreneurial vigor.

I wear my Master tag...but, I'm anon mostly. So, nobody knows unless they actually see me.

I had an encounter in Cnet not too long ago as I was about to launch into space.

I'm running into the starport, and just as I hit the starship term, I get this...

Wook: "Hey wait! Can you slice some containers for me?"
Me: "I could...but I'd prefer you find a Novice, since they need the XP."
Wook: "I just did a search for Smugglers, and there's not any showing up. You don't even show up."
Me: "Well, you can keep looking. Or I can do it for you. But a Novice would probably do it for free...I'll charge you 10k per container."

Wook: "Oh...ok...I'll keep looking."

Wook runs off.

I then ran my /notslicing macro which hides my tag. Then, I jumped into space.

I also have a /slicing macro that I run which displays my tag and makes me searchable when I care to be bothered with Slicing requests.
