Thread: Logged on and played for the first time in a month plus...

...after I had my ass handed to me in my Z95 I decided to play that OTHER part of the game that you need buffs and all that for. Then I realized...I didn't have anything to do besides solo groups- which have been SERIOUSLY gimped.
Any ideas as to some good times?
I guess ICOULD figure out how to REALLY gear up a ship but I don't really want to grind.
any suggestions?

Well I like to stay in JTL these days. While grinding can be a very negative force in the world, there are ways to enjoy the JTL experience without having to put your nose to the stone.
The key for me is always in multiplayer. That's where I find my enjoyment in JTL, by grouping up with other pilots and just going out and blasting stuff. Not only do learn how to work a ship as part of a team but every kill that is made while in a multiplayer ship has the xp spread to everyone inside. That really lowers the grind feeling for me and I get to have fun with other people.

They are a little harder to find I think because many just run off into space but yes they just ask for people to join up.
Even at odd hours that I play at (midnight PST), I can normally find someone wanting a gunner or a crew member for their ships. It's just a matter of being on the lookout.
If you have guild connections, all the better to find a willing crew. Masters of course are require to fly the big multiplayer ships but there are gunner positions to fill on the two-seater ships that work great as well.

Especially now with the Krayt gunship. It's actually a lot more enjoyable to me than being on a YT-1300 since it's much more maneuverable. To the original poster: you'll probably find someone willing to take you to Kessel as a gunner, the pilot gets the loot, and both of you get the experience, which can be quite substantial for a non-master.

Yah those new Krayt ships are sweet... Can't wait to earn mine. I've been mission gated for a good bit but with the fix tomorrow I'm going to be doing my best to earn it before the servers go down the next day.

The Krayt is a new 2-seater privateer ship at master. You should be just fine to sit as a gunner in one.

Suggestions for three things that are more fun than SWG / JTL
- Play WoW
- Play Half Life 2
- Uninstall SWG/JTL
I know .. I know .. I'm an @$$ for sayin those things, but that's what I'm doing for fun these days. I WISH I could say that WoW is only slightly better than SWG, but MAN is it polished. Right now it's ALOT more fun than anything in SWG/JTL.
Blizzard is like Pixar .... they only create masterpieces.
SWG/JTL is like a trying to quit smoking .... the more patches you get, the more likely you are to quit.

Even though I played the first 5 months ofmy gameplay by myself. I have found that the game is most fun when just hanging with others. I get bored somtimes now if I dont have someone to chat to, unless I am working towardssome goal and then I would rather be alone and not bothered lol.

Most of the people I know who have gone to WoW haven't described it as SO MUCH F*CKING BETTER than SWG, they have simply said, "It's different, and PVP's great."
And I still see them logging into galaxies freqeuntly for the social climate.

Forgot to answer the original question. I recently dropped around half my combat boxes to pick up musician, and that's been enjoyable. I split my time between cantinas, space (when the fix goes in), And going to high level planets and exploring/fighting the inhabitants. Nothing like getting 2 or 3 protectors on you. Also, try the thing that lends this genre it's name, Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying. Since that's what the game is supposed to be designed around, that may be where the "fun" comes into play.
