Thread: Fellow Smugglers, a dilemna: Underworld I or Dirty Fighting I?

I've gotten enough Pistol XP finally to be able to get Underworld I, but I've been told by a couple master smugglers in my PA that I should keep going and work on the DF tree before I tangle with the U-World tree.

Any insights from other smugglers and what you picked?

May Thanks!

Unless you're getting some other kind of weapon abilities or unarmed (or pistoleer Stances and grips) then go for DF, because they're the only thing that makes you better with the gun since we don't get mods. After you get them it'll be a bit easier to kill things so Underworld is less of a struggle.

To me it all depends on whether or not you PvP alot. The first Pistol skills I took with my smuggler was Underworld 1 and 2 for th Fast Talker Skill. Now I am working on the Dirty Fighting line and when it is done I will finish the Underworld line.

Because the full DF tree will take so much more pistol xp, I did that one first. Wanted to get the hard one out of the way and figured having panic shot and last ditch would make the underworld tree go a bit faster.

I also spent pistol on Novice Pistoleer before any dirty fighting for the same reason. I figured the skill mods and melee defense 1 would make dirty fighting go a bit faster. And it has.

DF 1 first. You will realise how much of a wonderful thing FD is

Easy, dirty fighting man! not only is it more useful (unless you already have a bunch of pistoleer specials and are a mega-serious PvPer) but it'll help you get more pistol exp to fly up the Underworld tree later

As said above, DF will help you get that underworld xp faster.

I'm pursuing them both, in a balanced manner.

I usually let the xp build up to get a DF skill first though...I'm ike everyone one else, I want the utility of our Specials, especially as I have not pursued any other combat line atm. I am forging ahead for Master level, so I don't get the 11 special moves that pistoleers get.

Then I'll take the equivalent level in Underworld. I like to dip into PvP with some friends, and the faction perks will add up over time for that as well.

I got Novice Pistoleer first so I could use a Dx2, then started up the DF tree. This allowed me to toss my combat XP into the Pistoleer Special Abilities Tree first of all. Second, by the time I got Low Blow, and subsequently, Last Ditch, killing mob's became pretty much academic.

I'm working up the Underworld tree now, and rather than being a grind, I can run around and do other things, and the Pistol XP is just a breeze to get, more of an aside than as my primary goal.

1000XP mobs drop like stones at the mighty power of Last Ditch! Mwahahaha

Seriously, do DF first and everything else falls into place.

I initially started up the DF tree (at 2 now)but since the devs mentioned revising/looking at the underworld tree, I figured I better finish out Underworld. They may end up making it more difficult... Would really suxxor if they made it harder before I finished out dirty fighting. I am 2\4\2\4 at the moment.
