Thread: Shadowpaw is so quick

I got up early this morning for some odd reason, so before i left for work i jumped on SWG for a few minutes. no enough time to continue the pistol grind, so i sat and sliced some weapons for xp (currently slicing 2) until i ran out.

then i thought i might as well get some xp for the spices tree. i had 25k of beans i already bought for this and some steel from my days as an architect, so tweeked my crafting macro a little, and eight minutes later i had 16,000 XP......

2,000 Xp per minute, i should be fence in only 20 minutes of crafting

I have done the crafting grind before on other professions, and wasn't looking forward to it (if its not made in a factory i usually can't be bothered any more ) but 30 minutes start to finish is great. i can do that on a couple of buff queues.

anyway if anyone wants the macro let me know and i'll post it. all it requires is the standard double click on the resources, and 5 crafting tools. then i can set up schematics for muon and pixie and set them off in my factories.

smiling as usual, and ina much better mood than yesterday

lol, i found the same thing, i wasn't looking forward to the spice or slice grinds, but turns out, easiest part of being a smuggler. i was 0/4/0/4 two days after getting smuggler. now 14 days later i am 4/4/3/4 with 350k pistol xp to go. ah life is grand

The spice grind may be quick, but you get what you pay for.

OK following is the macro. To make it work as written, you will need to do a couple of things, goto a new toolbar pane. and place 5 crafting tools in toolbar boxes F2, F3 to F6.

and make sure that F1 is clear for now.

Note: Macros are case and space sensitive, so be very careful with typeing.

next u have to find the scematic number. if u have no other crafting skills the schematic number will be in the vacinity of 03. otherwise open your data-pad and count along (left to right, top to bottom) till u reach shadowpaw. (Hint: only count the items for that craftin tool) OK now this will be in the rough area, may or may not be exact. use the following to test and adjust till you get the right number.

/ui action toolbarSlot01;

/selectdraftSchematic 00;

replace 00; with appropriate. when u have it you can enter the following.

Hint: goto options, keymap and assign a key-combo to both copy and paste (unassigned by default) e.g. ctrl-alt-c (remember ctrl-c is used already)

/ui action toolbarSlot01;

/selectdraftShematic 03;

/pause 4;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/createprototype practice no item;

/createprototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot02;

/selectdraftShematic 03;

/pause 4;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/createprototype practice no item;

/createprototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot03;

/selectdraftShematic 03;

/pause 4;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/createprototype practice no item;

/createprototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot04;

/selectdraftShematic 03;

/pause 4;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/createprototype practice no item;

/createprototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot05;

/selectdraftShematic 03;

/pause 4;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/nextC;

/createprototype practice no item;

/createprototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot00;

give it a name and a symbol and place it in the F1 slot infront of all the crafting tools.

next create a second macro called "dump", commands:

/dump

and place this in the F7 slot. this will kill the loop when hit. otherwise you'll go mad.

Now go buy some cheap organic, u need approximately 12,000 units, and shouldn't cost more than 1CPU, buy 3,000 units of any cheap metal.

find somewhere quiet, with no lag, the macro is timed very closely, and lag could cause problems, adjust the /pause 4; line if need be. (time is in seconds)

Ok and set it off, make sure the resources are in your inventory (not ina bag) and just double click on them. u need to make 467 of them to get level 4, at 120XP a shot. but with the timing above you clear 1 item every 5 seconds. speed it up or slow it down by adjusting the /pause 00; lines. the /pause 1; gives time to finish before opening new, and cannot be lower, but i think with a quite area, and a good system u could get the /pause 4; lines to 3 seconds, thus making 1800 XP per minute.

Have fun and hope it helps. you should quite easily be able to finish the gind in about 45 minutes to an hour.

smiling as always

For some reason, when I hit the macro, it opens up the food crafting tool, but then the session ends. I never have a chance to input resources or get any exp. Any suggestions?

Increase the pause after selecting the draft schema. I have mine set at 6, which seems the least my system will handle.

the pause command does vary from system to system, and in fact time of day and planet will also affect it.

when i wrote the macro i tested it at coronet at 7am (GMT) and very quiet, so i got it to the 4 and 1. but last night on dantooine in a player city, i found that i had to increase the /pause 4 to 6 and the /pause 1 to 2, as the next crafting session would try and run before the current had closed.

appart from that it should all work fine. and easiest way, is set the timers high, and bring them down slowly to find the most efficient loop. hope it helps

LOL, so true. The whole Smuggler profession only takes a couple sessions to Master once you grind out the Unarmed xp. Of course I came to it from BH/Pistoleer so I had a ton of pistol xp. From my artisan days I still had everything I needed for the spice grind.

Slicing took the longest...or at least it cost the most. I did all my slices using clamps, as soon as I got to weapons slicing I was buying crates of knives.

And what you say it is completely true...the time investment for Master Smuggler is definatly in line with the amount of useful skills you get.

-2 good specials

-2 saleable spices

-Completely randomized slices

Yee HAW! Still for some reason I love being a smuggler. However, now Im on the FS path and somethings gotta give. It'll have to be Smuggler as Pistoleer and TKM are simply too useful.
