Thread: Okay, not a smuggler-specific suggestion, but everyone here is more open to anything anyway :D

I got to thinking, tells are kind of an odd situation. Some people use them for private OOC chat, some use them as RP, and consider them to be comm-links.
What if they put Comm-links in? It could be an off-hand equippable device, so you could unequip to not be reachable by it, and you could set it so only people who knew your comm-links code could speak with you. I would also think it would be cool if everyone within maybe half a meter to a meter away from you could hear you and the person at the other end, sort of like a whisper, but not to the point where it would create a spam problem.

Sounds quite nice - since I'm using tells, groupchat and, well, everything except spatial strictly for OOC chat, it would be great to have an 'official' IC means of communication. If they ever do a 'communication' (mini-)publish, this should go in it, alongside Holonet public bulletin boards and a few other neat additions.

Any idea where that is? I mean, I don't think I could post it in their *sses, since that's where they suually seem to get their ideas...

I know I posted this idea in the thread Tyrant started yesterday. If CoH can have ways to ring up your mission contacts, I would think a sci-fi MMO like this would be able to as well.

Sorry to the devs on the pulling ideas from dark places comment, in case they were reading this, I was just a bit cranky earlier after reading about The "working as intended" ability of Jedi to cancel feign death.

The Core Systems forum is usually a good place for such ideas and proposals.
