When I'm in a 'non-money hungry business-like' mood, here's what I do to spice up (no pun intended) my slicing:
This is usually alot of fun when you're at an out-of-the-way place and you're the only Master Smuggler around.
Client: Can you slice some weapons for me?
Me: Sure ... 6k per slice flat fee ... OR if you're feeling lucky .... under 22% free, 22% and higher 12k per.
Client: Hmmmm .... I'm not a gambling man .... 6k rate please.
or
Client: Lets go for it ... I'm feeling lucky 12k or free !!
It's a double edged sword for them ... on one hand they want a high slice, but don't wanna pay alot. But they get a little 'insurance' if the slice isn't 22% or better if the 'roll the dice'. I usually do this when I just got finished my 3 hour buff on Dantooine and I made over 1 million credits doing Janta / Mokk missions. Who cares if I make any money on the slices LOL.
1 guy took the safe rout of 6k flat rate and I sliced ALL 4 of his rifles for 30% or greater (1 was 34% speed)!! He saved a butt-load of credits. Another guy gambled on 5 VKs and only got 1 under 22% but the other 4 were 22% - 24% LOL.
It's fun ... give it a try!

By the way .... There wasn't any real reason as to why I chose 22% other than that 22 is my favorite number. BUT ...... I noticed with my own slicing, that I seem to average above 22% on just about everything, so I'm sure the chances are better for me than the client ... but isn't that what it's all about?

When I slice a weapon I ask them if they want to play "roulette" with there slice. I give them the option of a 1k flat rate if they choose the wire or 100cr per percent on a guaranteed slice.
I'm amazed to find how many people like to play the roulette version and I've set up a macro for it...
pens up the small electronic panel of and notices two wires.. red and blue.
/say Red wire or Blue wire?
:steadies his hands.
...customer picks...
If I succeed I use:
:cuts the wire and the has been unlocked.
/say wow not bad a xx% increase
if I fail I use:
:gets shocked as he clips the wire and the security mechanism locks down permanently.
/say sunofa.. that hurt.

My statistics based on over 1300 recorded slices show that the average slice for a weapon is a few
decimals over 25%. Thus, just like the house in a casino, by setting the bar at 22% you are highly
favored to make some money on this game!
