Thread: JTL Smuggler Ideas
1. Contraband Scanning at space stations before being permitted to land. Penalties could be as small as being forced to drop cargo (at the first sign of an Imperial ship - had to say it) (delete/jetison items) or as large as having a TIE squad (or even opposing smuggler factions) launched against you. Multiplayer ships might be allowed systems to jettison items or it could be a Smuggler-only ability, allowing them to come back for it later (via waypoint), if they're ever caught.
2. Random Contraband Scanning in certain sectors with Imperial Capitol Ships around.
3. Slicing ship components, also turning them contraband... and possibly jettisonable by Smugglers.
4. Delivery missions as hinted at by Mentski. They're on the ground, why not in space? Furthermore, if taken from space to ground then Contraband rules could be forced into effect. Delivery missions from unsavory individuals could be made inherently Smuggler friendly; non-Smugglers would have to take their chances going through space station scans.
5. Smuggling People. That is, in the same way Obi Wan brokered passage with Han Solo to avoid "Imperial entanglements," Jedi players can ride with Smugglers to reduce visibility for a time. It could work like a doctor or entertainer buff or it could only last for as long as the Jedi is onboard. Alternately, how about if we're just given the ability to slice players' names off the Bounty Hunter terminals? Opinions, other ideas?
6. False authentication codes to land at Imperial/Rebel bases when not of that faction. (Why is Han always the one trying to talk his was past Imps?) Perhaps this should be renewable once a day or week or so by visiting with specific NPCs like BHs do with SpyNet.
