Thread: The *simple* explanation of the 500pt. FP cap.

At Underworld 4, you earn the ability to talk to a faction recruiter and "Make a donation" to which ever side of the war you prescribe to.

10000 creds buys you 125 FP (138 if you're winning the GCW).

1000 creds buys you 10 FP (11 if you're winning the GCW).

The catch is, you can only "Make a donation" if you have LESS than 500 FP with your respective faction.

So, hit Ctrl-C (default to pull up your character status sheet), and look in the upper right-hand corner, where it has your current FP numbers.

If the number in your current faction reads 500 or more, you must grind missions, POIs, etc. to get more FP. YouCANNOTmake another purchase.

If the number in your current faction reads 499 or less, you may proceed to purchase points from the recruiter.

Rank does NOT matter. There is no way around the 500 point cap.

Thank you.

I found it!!! If you try to buy FPs when over 500, then it won't work, but your next slice will be exactly .23% of your FPs at the time of the attempted purchase, unless it is the second or fourth Tuesday of the month, and then it will be .22%.

It works! Try it! It has something to do with the fibonicci sequence and the natural log. I can't explain it, but it works out.

I think some of us smugglers are starting to snap

As for the reason for the cap. It's simply there so we can't just buy faction perks such armour, pets stright from the recruiter at 25% discount or rank. We have to earn it.

Things around the Smuggler forum seem to be like the activity before a volcano erupts. Seismic anomalies barely coming into perception.

Lets just say that more and more "little" things are getting on my nerves lately. In an effort to counteract this, I'm making an active effort to spend less time on the forums, but in the time that I do spend, I'm finding it harder to keep my mouth shut when these very simple and repetitive subjects come up.

I think I'm doing pretty good...I haven't called anyone an idiot lately...at least not publicly...

I think I'm in about the same place as you are. I actually told Fish that I was sorry for snapping at certain people in the last few days...

...However, now that there's yet ANOTHER damned post about slicing NOT being random, I completely rescind my apologies. I don't always feel the urge to press my little opinion on everyone (that's what my job's for) but there are a couple posters that I simply cannot stand beside in the same forum and watch them make idiotic posts and then tell everyone that "it was a joke." Some people in this forum really piss meoff, andI kept my mouth shut until I freakin'snapped. Sue me.

I'm terribly sorry if anyone I've reamed has a problem with me, but if I have a problem with you, it's quite likely other people don't like you as well, since I tend to be pretty friendly here.

Dreven, good luck on that "sequence" for slicing in that other thread.

*Gets out pitchfork and torches*

Next person that claims to have found a slicing sequence is gettingstrung upin the village square.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.
