im wanting to do Group PvP and do Jedi missions,. Problem is ive never really pvped while grinding out my template and was hoping thesmuggler community could help me out. Not sure if my template is the best template, but hoping there are a few out there with similar templates that have any tips for me. Im currently working on getting skill attachments for Pistols and Rifles as those are the main weapons i want to use, but that is going slow with lack of funds. Weapons i have are my HC Scatter Pistol (kinetic), Renegade Pistol (energy), and Fallon X rifle (kinetic, might be mispelled) and use a decent set of recon armor.

Basically im wanting to know:

what attack specials you open up with and follow up with in 1 on 1 PvP, and Group PvP (if there is a difference) ?

what types of food/drinks should i be taking?

again i know my template problem isnt the best for hunting jedi, but i always like the idea of being a smuggler and being able to slice weapons and armor will hopefully help me bring in a little bit of income. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks =)

This is more of a BH thread but my 2 cents...

Your main problem is range. You are going to be inside of the jedi's saber through, which is an ugly knockdown. Plus you are way too close to a glowing toothpick to not have any medic stuff. Your choice of stopping shot is excellent and but overall the smuggler moves do little to help against a jedi. If you were to pickup MR you would see how the range really helps out in a fight . You could use your sniper shot, stopping shot, then your states and damage movesand just try to keep out of saber throw range (35m) when the root breaks just use snare and kite until root sticks again.

The most important thing when fighting Jedi is to stay out of range. Use KD, snare, root, and mez. You won't need medic if you have +1200 stims and some Ruby Bliel and are able to keep OUT of 32 meters. The KD in saberthrow has been taken out except for Jedi who mastered sabers, but they upped the damage on saberthrow by 40%. Each sip of Ruby Bliel will allow your stim cooldown to lower to 30 seconds. You must keep drinking it if you have to keep healing continuously.

Buy some 100% or so burst run recovery time Parwan Nutricake. When you need to burst run, eat this stuff instead of hitting the BR button. I keep the cake where burstrun USED to be on my toolbar. This will allow you to continue to chain burst run for a LONG time.

I am still experimenting, but I think that you don't really even need high damage attacks. I read somewhere that you get better DPS using ranged and placed shot than using the slower, higher damaging specials... consider using these to conserve your action.

Just remember to stay out of range. You should probably buy a nice, quick rifle or carbine, but you could conceivably kill Jedi fairly well with your template. And remember, if the going gets tough, you can always Concussion shot or Panic shot the Jedi then stop firing so you can take a break!

What the hell does that have to do with PVP?

Do you ever get tired of being a victim?

Anyway, I like the combo- having Stopping Shot is great once you get used to using it.

Unarm your weapon, kick in COB (for an extra +250 Def) and keep your Duelist's Stance macro going.

The new Concussion Shot is good for taking a break- healing or setting up a Bomb droid.

I love to KD with Underhand andfollow up with a Critical.

Use yourHeavy Lightning Rifle (MBH) at65m and open with a KD. Follow with Critical and as they run at you hit them with Stopping Shot (melee) or CS (ranged) run and repeat.

This is a good combo- it's not the best but it is a lot of fun. It takes a while to figure out what works. Good luck.

First and foremost... last ditch is not a tactic

That said, the specials you have are awesome but you'll end up using your rifle a lot of the time in pvp. I had 4 guns on my hotbar. Renegade (energy pistol), FW5 (kinetic pistol), Launcher (AoE Heavy Weapon), and an Advanced Laser Rifle. Lead with the rifle but if you happen to get into pistol range, drop it as soon as possible and switch.

Also when pvping, take off your auto attack option. Not only will having it off mean you won't screw up concussion/panic, it forces you to be aware of the situation and pick the best shot. With your special set you have a great chance to control your opponent one on one like no other. You may not have the raw power of a rifleman, but let me tell you how fast riflemen fall when you get in their face. The only time I, as a jedi, have an issue with a rifleman is when he brings a pistoller or smuggler buddy along.

Tactics are far more important than raw damage. The template you have gives you access to some of the best tactical specials in the game. Best advice is to just practice. PvP some and learn how stuff really works. Also, as a favor to me, don't be a jackass to the jedi you hunt. I expect to be hunted and even sometimes killed. What I don't appreciate is hate tells, being spit on, and other immaturities. There are a lot of retarded jedi out there, but don't bring yourself to your level.
