Thread: Just a comment on new slicing.. No nothing bad..

I am just curious why we dont get these parts in a more smuggleresq fasion..


I mean to say from workin in the under world.. I said this before but I am gonna say it again.. I think its time to put use to all them NPC "criminals" in our cantinas round the galaxy.. People have asked why aint we gettin these things from smuggler missions (we hope to be getting).. I ask the same thing, and with it ask why aint we doin things in a more "criminal" way?


Like get a job to jack goods from a rival and get these as rewards.. Both space and ground.. If its meant to be a hard thing to do to get a good slice make the mobs harder for better parts quests/missions.. I hate looting myself, but if it had a bit of story or fun play about it I could handel it fine.. I would love to smuggle for parts and hijak frieghters run by the "bad guys" we all work for..Would it not make more sense to work underground to be good at this stuff rather than just get the same old... "Go to DWB and kill 20mil enemies and they have yer stuff" or "Kill some krayts and get loots".......


Make yer loot system, make it hard to get the top end stuff..... But please make it feel like a "smuggler/pirate" thing to be doin.. Not more EQ style mindless kill fests for loot.. Make it fun and cool for smugglers..



I demand an underworld to be part of!!.. Thats right DEMAND it!..

Oh come on.... I cant be the only one who thinks this mindless killing spree they have us on is gimp.. Look it aint our fault no one wants to go to Death Watch..So some one out there say somthin.. Good or bad, anything people..

Thats not what I am sayin.. You seem to have missed the point.. Its not a matter of getting the parts, but rather who we get them.. I just dont see why they dont make it more of an "event" as it were.. I dont mind workin to get the good stuff.. I just wanna do it in a fun and interesting way. Pointless killing spree in DWB or other places is just silly..


It would be a lot more fun (if ya ask me, and I know prolly no one is) to take part in the battles between the big crime groups (and the small timers) to get my stuff.. They can still make it the "harder" mobs have the really good stuff, but make us play our prof to get them.. We are by rights breaking the law when we slice.. I want to feel like I am to get the goods also.. And sides it just makes more sense to me to be dealing in the shady side of things for this kinda loot.


So dont get me wrong I can manage just fine as is.. But I dont wanna buy my stuff and make/wait for others to do the killing for me.. I want to have fun while I am "gathering" the parts is all. Is it so hard for them to drop some new story/missions on the old "a criminals" we got all over teh place?.. To put some new guys to work for in Jabba's and places like it?..


I dont mind so much the loot crap, just that its not really fun to grind to get parts the way we grind out cash. I mean havent we waited long enough for some good clean smuggler fun?.. A lil content never hurt anyone..

They could implement faction based vendors like they have for Rebs and Imps, who could sell slicing gear. Smugglers could use their faction with Jabba, Nym, etc to obtain stuff. Of course if they let smugglers buy the needed faction then the whole roleplay elemnet is defeated. They'll also have to put in criminal mission terminals to replenish spent faction. "If you do this favor for The Family, then you will be a Made Smuggler and have access to Eeepieyo Popoyioyo,Jabba's personal slicing tool expert!"

In an ideal world, yes, the loot would come from smuggling mission rewards, attacking npcs, criminal npcs etc

And they would be in crates or stackable so I could actually store them somewhere....

we should be able to /dock and steal these (simple toolkits) as cargo from all those redundant civilian transports in space.. they should also have an fighter escort defending them.
