Recently had a set of armour sliced, it was returned to me with 75% chance to reduce decay. This was explained as being a bugged message that actually relates to the chance to deflect an attack. Anyone confirm or deny the accuracy of this?

What did you slice it for? (Well the results are all correct in the end... so I dont expect any fix for a wrong system message soon... after all we ran around with an empty Master box for almost2 years)

It was supposedly sliced for for 75% deflection - the smuggler's own words as I didn't know much about slicing at the time (still don't).

Impact Deflection reduces decay on armour. Meaning it deflects some of the damage the armour would take. i.e. decay.
It is the same thing.

Hmmmm,
Maybe the smuggler was LYING to you, and they just thought of something to say for the sake of it?

The 75% may refer to the amount of customization on the armor, which, along with the use of "deflection", would indicate a tier 3 Improve Impact Deflection slice. This means that 60% of the hits the armor takes will only cause half the regular decay. This extends the armor's life, but not yours. If you examine the armor, it will show the name of the slice in the armor's statistics.
