I wish to thank this community for pointing me to Firefly. This is one excellent series. Nothing in it shows that it should have been cancelled...except that so few knew it was actually on. And in the marketing of all these horrible reality shows, this fine drama got choked before it ever had a chance to take off. I'm saddened and thankful at the same time. Sad that this series wasn't given a fair shake. Yet thankful that I got to experience something magical. Even if it was short-lived. Anyway,I'm buying the DVD set...just to spitewhatever stupid suit decided to cancel this show. He probably has no idea what sci-fi excellence actually is. Heck, he probably works for SOE.

The marketing department at FOX didn't understant the audiance who would like it. They showed the first episode AFTER one of the world series games. Not saying that baseball fans dont like Sci-Fi shows, but it seemed to focus on the wrong crowd. I think it would have done much better if shown on the same night as x-files.

The movie, Serenity, based on Firefly series is opening up on September 30th. I know im going to be there opening night.

And who knows, if the movie is successfull it may convince someone, like the Sci-Fi channel, to continue the series.

LOL! Your probably right. I got the box set back when it first came out, and you know the show is even better if you see it in order (the people that watched it on FOX <bastards> will know what I mean). I can't wait until Sept. 30th....
