I'm not cancelling, but I'm giving a heck of a lot less money to LA/SWG. I changed my account so that the money gets divided according to playtime on all the games I play. I decided to do this because SWG is effectively a dead game. I started looking at the other games that SOE has and they are amazing. EQ2, has over 2100 discovered quests. Quests that you get loot, money, and experience for. It is possible to gain levels entirely through questing without ever killing anything. I decided to try it. Hell the $19 it cost me isn't too much to write off if I hate it.

After my research I have decided that it probably isn't SOE that is killing SWG, its Lucas Arts. Given that SOE's other games are of a considerably higher calibre than SWG, and certainly better developed contentwise, the only logical conclusion is that it is the other half of the partnership which is responsible for the majority of the bollocks we have been getting.

This would also explain why bugs don't get fixed. I have seen the following scenario in my head. SOE says "OK for a game of this magnitude, we will need $X million dollars." To which LA responds, "Hmm, well we weren't planning on spending that much, how much can you do with $X/2 million?" SOE grimly replies, "Well, we will have to eliminate content, and bugfixes will take forever since we will have to cut the dev team down to the point that almost all of them will be on the 'expansions' team, and very few will be left over for the 'maintenance' team, but it is theoretically possible." LA, "Do it with $X/3 million then." SOE, "*BLEEP*, I don't think we really want to put our name on this debacle..."

If you are going to continue to play and have a respec left, I highly recommend MBH and the NPC missions that go along with it. It gives you three things you can't get from being smuggler / non-bh:


1. Phat loot.


2. Lots of credits from selling said phat loot, since you can't really make much off smuggler skills anymore.


3. Content, of which a smuggler has NOTHING a stronger combat class doesn't already have. MBH missions are sort of a nice change of pace right now to be honest.


Oh, and for what it's worth: I agree with you on the Lucas Arts screwing things up theory. I've played other games that were developed by companies that had a better track record but ended up being crappy because the company that owned the rights kept pushing things that weren't good for gameplay. Lucas Arts is just trying to make big bucks by pushing buggycontent more related to recent movies instead of trying to keep something half-way similar to the supposed timeline SWG started out with.
