Oh, cpz -- that last part really got me... whew.
This is why so many of us are so passionate. For us, our avatars LIVE. Pushing that cancel button feels a lot like dying because of it.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt this way./salutecpzTake care and watch your six, you never know what might happen.
Many of us feel this way. This is why we are so passionate about it.
See you in The Other Place and join in on that bottom set of forums. We need you.
You too, Wes.

Agreed. Your input will be missed greatly. Fight the good fight, wherever it may be. Your wisdom will be remebered.
Spoken like a true hero.
cpz, you rock my world, man. (and not in the Michael Jackson sense of the word)
You are one of the ones that really made my stay on these boards completely great, dude.

Here lies the final post of cpz. The final act of Colonel Narayan Darkfly.
This is not a goodbye thread, though. I made my Last Alliance thread a while back and received the /salutes and /secretsmugglerhandshakes back then, so there's no need to repeat. This is also not intended to be one last anti-Dev barrage. The cartoons in my sig show perfectly well enough my contempt for the people running this shambles, so no need to dwell on the negativity.
This thread is to be a Thank You thread. Thank you to the fantastic Eclipse players who made this game special. Despite the massive holes in content and design, it was a blast, right up until nearly all my friends and associates left at the CU, when the gaping nothingness where the Star Wars content should have been was laid bare. But thanks also extent to those of us left scrabbling trying to avoid the grind post-CU. What few appreciate is that the strength of the game lies in those who refuse to grind, who refuse to assimilate. They - we - are the lifeblood of this game, because we play for the pleasure of living in this world, rather than for the reward of following the destructive path to power. The kings of this game are the Droid Engineers, the Creature Handlers; the princes of this realm are the Smugglers, the Rangers, the Squad Leaders. They don't ask for more power, for bigger, brighter thrills. They'd be content with a working, functional profession, in a working, functional environment. That's all, and it's them I thank for enriching this game more than my words can do justice to.
Thank you also to the motley crew of posters on these boards who made each work day pass that much quicker. I won't name names, but the chances are if you've argued with a passion that this game should be more OT than PT on this, the Smuggler board, or on my other haunt, the GCW board, please take my thanks. I've read concepts and proposals that would shake the PC gaming world had they been implemented. I mean literally shaken everything apart. And the saddest, most bitter feeling I have left in this last moment of existance is that I never once even saw a flicker of acknowledgement from the SOE red names. Not once. I shouldn't imagine a red name will come near this thread, but should they, take that to heart. Never did I see a SOE single acknowledgement of the players' creativity, energy and time invested in the numerous Idea threads.
And my last round of thanks are directed to - rather bizarrely - Narayan Darkfly. For many months you were a retreat from the world that's thrown some daunting things my way - the death of my father, the break-up of a relationship, and massive professional upheaval to name a few. I'm just sorry to leave you Missing In Action, somewhere on Corellia. Rest well, my friend. You were awesome.
And that, as they say, is that.
Kindest regards,
cpz aka Col. Narayan Darkfly aka Adam
