With the current trend of Jedi dabbling in Smuggler and the Devs reluctance to do anything to allow FD to work as it should, why not move it to the Master Box?
Either that, or allow it where it is now, DF1, but have it effective only in PvE until Master.
If against a player, then a Smuggler would need to have a certain percentage, lets say 90% gained at Master, for it to work.
This would aleviate the dabbling and may make the Devs more receptive to fixing it.
Just 2c worth.

I don't think it should work in PvP at all. Just becuase someone is playing dead doesn't mean that if I fill them full of hole's they're gonna live.

Feign death SHOULD work in PVP and the Smuggler should Apear as a corpse to all those not grouped with them.
If you have the skill points to spread around and you want a few skills from a few trees what wrong with that?
the only thing needing fixed in FD is keeping it from being cancelled out and making the smuggler untargetable whlie FDing

I'd like to see Feign scale a lot more with FD skill. As it is now, it appears to work the same between DF 1 and Master, all while we're getting useless "Feign Death" modifiers. Maybe the basic skill could offer a percentage of success in PVE (working as it does now), but at higher levels it could clear us off the hate list and/or have useful application in pvp?
That'd cure the anticipated Feigning Jedi problem too, they might have points to spare on DF 1, but do they really want to sacrifice for Master??

/sigh This will be the last time I post this:
GreenMarine said at Fan Fest that FD is NOT a PvP move, that it is one of two or three non-PvP moves put into the game. If you're a Jedi and use FD in PvP, that's pathetic. What I wouldn't give to be halfway decent at PvP and actually fight....to all the Jedis using FD in PvP: have fun with those black bars, and once a Carbineer pulls you out of FDwith startling shot, you're going to by crying nerf all night long.
All I can say is that ifthere were more Carbineers that popped people out of FD in PvP, the world would be a much smarter place. I guarantee you a Jedi that gets killed because he used FD and got popped out of it from Startling Shot would never do it again.

I firmly believe it should be a valid pvp option, we just have to work on its implementation.
What it is now, in our eyes and the developers...
Doesn't mean it will stay that way.
I hate skills that only have an application in one area of gameplay.

If that's true, then we can kiss anything for Smuggler in the future ever being good - goodbye.
That right there is complete and utter bull$hit.

It wasn't a quote. There is a carbineer move that will bring someone out of FD. I thought the name was Startling Shot, my apologies if I couldn't remember the name off the top of my head.
**Edit: The only quote I made was in reference to GreenMarine saying at Fan Fest that FD was not a PvP move, and that it was never was intended to be, or will be.Ask Joras, he was there with me.

What is? That since you can't play possum in the middle of a base raid to avoid getting ganked, it's b.s.?
/rolleyes
I'm glad you roll with -V-. They can protect you.

Actually there is no carbineer move that is intended to posture up a target. Carb's get posture down and knockdown shots, and thats it. Rifleman startle shot is a POSTURE UP shot.
Really makes me wonder how many other inaccuracies and/or embellishments are in that post. Would you mind citing an url to the original comment by the person to whom it is attributed? No transcripts available from Fan Fest? So basicly all we have to operate on is hearsay.

Ask fishbrains, he was at Fan Fest and heard the exact same thing. There were three guys up at the table at the Hybrid forum (one of them GM) and someone asked about PvP being fixed for PvP. 2 of the three guys (GM being one of them) stated that it was and never will be a PvP move. The other guy didn't say anything to answer the question..mainly because he wasn't there for Smuggler, I believe he was answering questions about CM and Commando.
Furthermore....
This is why I never want to come into this forum anymore. I try to provide information that people might not have gotten because they didn't attend Fan Fest, and I get flamed. If you'd like to question my integrity, head over to the Scylla boards. I'm sure you'll get some answers there.
I apologize if I didn't HoloGrind and experience all the professions this game has to offer, and learn every name of every move that each profession granted.
**edit** I have spoken to a friend about this, and it seems that (unbeknownst to myself that it has been fixed) that it used to be Supression Fire that would posture UP someone if using FD. So it did exist, my apologies if I didn't read the entire publish notes one patch or another. With that said, I'm going to test the Startle Shot tonight and get back to you.
