"First I’d apologize that we were misleading at all, if that was the case, or if he was misled and had expectations for a Smuggler revamp."

To put the quote into context, the part of the question he was answering was "What kind of message would you give to John Q. Gamer who has been playing the game since launch, sitting around as a Smuggler and looking forward to the combat revamp that’s going to increase the scope of his class? "

He followed on to say...

"In terms of the Smuggler specifically, it’s something that’s definitely high on our list of priorities along with a handful of other professions. I think that he has to realize that we have a lot of things that we’re trying to do all at once and for us we have to make very, very difficult calls to prioritize all the features and updates that we want to do and that he definitely has not been forgotten, but to also hopefully enjoy all the things that we’re working on."

I'm actually pleased he answered this question and I understand why he throughout the interview was apologetic, but at the same time was all "That is, if we did mislead". The reason is likely to do with

a) Legalities; if they admit to actually misleading customers, they could have a law suit on their hands, albeit a shakey one.
b) His integrity; he may believe, whether self delusional or not, that they did not intend to mislead us in the ways they did. Everyone has a conscience at one level or another and most need to be able to live with theirs.

Yeah that whole interview was just BS'ing us all. Lots of BS with a hefty amount of backpeddling and trying to shift focus.

Depending on what they announce tomorrow I might not even want to bother with JTL. this game just gets more and more depressing with every NEW bug, let alone the ones that are still around since around the time of LAUNCH!!! Every lie and avoiding of answers from the DEVs about important game issues let alone the small stuff. And now we have "possibly" a longer wait ahead of us due to the fact that the Combat Revamp is being DELAYED until after JTL. Combat Revamp will be much more important then a class revamp no matter how many times they have lied or teased us about getting Smuggler fixed.

I went back and have been playing DAOC again. I used to work for Mythic and been with DAOC since it's beginning in beta, and I will tell you a small company with limited budget and so tossed and stomped on SOE and SWG DEVs every step of the way. DAOC's launch was the best yet (though CoH's did come close but they have had some nasty server and zone lag issues here and there so they only get a second place vote here) and DAOC's launch was better then an average game day in SWG.

They will push JTL out in an attempt to stop their competitors from taking their monthly money away from them awhile at the same time getting people to play a totally different game then SWG is now. In this world there is no screwed up combat or PVP issues (at least they hope not!) or laggy planets or any of the other numerious issues that SWG has. And while we all play there they hope it will give them time to fix many of the issues they have failed to do so so far.

I support server merging of some sort for the betterment and longevity of the game and it's player community!
