look at me all doomy and gloomy today.

I have to say i'm not liking the direction things are going... just don't see how smuggler as a combat profession can have such a unique roll and not have it cause some imbalance or dabbler or otherwise not promote smuggling at its core (nevermind that that skill seems puts us in the middle of exactly where we don't want to be)

that and the idea of a "balanced" slicing of armor where a great slice means great hinderances, even if a temporary system.

and then their test plan for testing doesn't even begin to consider the need for item conversion or template conversion so we'll have to wait until week 3 or 4 of a 5 week cycle for them to even start to dive into those areas with mirror servers

seems all we have left to hold onto is some misguded faction sales and a bottle of colt 45

Ah, but you're not asking yourself the important question: Does smuggling exist in Everquest? You have to stop thinking in Star Wars terms and adapt!

All I can say is that you're making assumptions.

Know what happens when you make an assumption?

You make an ass out of you and mption. Leave me out of this.

Selusa Secundus - Elder Smuggler - September 2003.
Sheeana Secundus - Respec Jedi - Elder Carbineer @ heart.
Raylonis Del'Rathin - Elder Chef, Dancer - Retired / Canceled July 2005.
Leader of the fallen Guild, Veil of Silence.

Without the past, the future would never happen.
Believes in a better future for SWG.
Everytime a Rollback or Additional server thread is spawned SOE murders a kitten. Please... think of the kittens and stop this erradication.

not making assumptions... i'm complaining about the role they see us in as it is defined in the profession roles document.... *not* the specific specials or damage mode or whatever as much as the *role* that they see us in when it comes to combat, the constraints that a role like that means, and the fact that that role is accomplished inside only a part of our skill tree and thus still open for at least some elite+smuggler dabbler being more useful then smuggler+XXX.

bah.. f it... no more smuggler forum till i've had more coffee.. or maybe later then that

I have the same reservations, but mine are actually with the specials. I understand the desire to make specials interchangeable with weapons, but all that really means is that someone who say is a Master Rifleman/DF 4 willget better use out of our specials than anyoneelse.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114
