Thread: FP sales balance (bored of talking about slicing atm)
1) half FP gains from combat? Maybe not, but something to stop this grind!
2) Allow smugglers to gain a discount on both the purchase of FP and on the loss of FP during delegation. Base this simply on the existing perk cost bonus we recieve.
Anyway, just tired of seeing afk-grinders drive this business into the dirt.

Seems my biggest FP brokerage competition is comming from non-Smugglers afk-grinding FP all night, and offering it at super-low rates because, well, maybe they're scum. whatever.

Maybe push the devs to kill afk macros
Can't see it ever being that Smugglers are the only ones who could delegate faction - that would prevent players in guilds or whatnot from pooling their points to get faction perks.
It would make Smuggler's more in demand, but would hamstring players who aren't smugglers. Whether that's a good or bad thing is debatable of course ![]()

I'd say wipe out the AFK macros in this regard. And no, I don't mean *looping* macros. Looping is useful. AFK-grindingleeches from at-keyboard players.
And faction-rank needs every perk it can get. So leave delegation and the ratios in place.. although reduced ratios for smugglerswould be cool (and in keeping with our reduced perk costs).

I say screw 'em all. Make it so us Smuggs are the only ones that can do anything with FP. Make it so if folks even want to earn FP, they gotta pay us to do it. We can charge an hourly rate. At the end of the hour, they stop earning FP.
Remember, if you ain't a Smuggler, you ain't [censored] !!!

The trouble with differentiating between afk and looping macros is a bit more complex than most. There are easy commands to add to any macro to make sure you never auto-idle, and eliminating these would make it a bit difficult to actually play SWG, since they are also the same methods the system uses to ID folks actually at the keys.
I guess thats why I was looking for a way to get us smugglers a large enough advantage when delegating that it would make comming to us a more desireable avenue than even grinding it yourself. The current FP bribe system helped that, but we lost all ground when the CU hit- level 25 factional targets offere a mere 4 FP less than a level 100 right now.
Perhaps a more aggressive, con-based FP system? 1 FP for grey-cons, just like the XP system?
I dont want to completely make those in the GCW camp loose all ability to gain it themselves, so that still may remain an unacceptable fix. Just need to make our efforts worthy of turning an actual profit on "purchased" FP, and more over, give us a distinction over all other FP grind/delegaters.
We can grind FP with the best of em, so really there is no difference, not a lot of > 70k FP items in the game (none), and very few people who would buy them in the first place. As such, our ability to cap FP in a matter on min, rather than a few nights of afk grinding, isn't too important.
I appreciate that there's complexity involved, but that should be resolved in any case. Implement some means of determining if a command (emote, /say or whatever thescript kiddies are doing now)was executed from the command line or a macro stack. Then for good measure, remove the option to turn off the AFK-flag. Problem-solved. Well, until we find some way to circumvent it. ![]()

You have not pressed a key in 30 minutes. Do you wish to stay connected? If so please type 'yes' in the box below and hit ok. Otherwise you will be disconnected in 30 seconds.
Still, its a viable and common solution.
What methods have other MMORPGs used to prevent this? SWG is my first/only MMORPG, I'm embarrassed to say.
