Just out of curiousity, have you happened to check and see how well a master smuggler with misc other skills fairs in these high end content places? I would just like you guys to realize that reguardless to the "new" combat stuff that we have been granted, and once you "repair" those that are "broke" we really don't fair to well in lower end high level content, let alone places like the DWB or Avatar. I completely disagree with Plan B, especially since Plan A could have worked, if you fixed the timer. Of course, the key point is that neither Plan A or Plan B is Plan Originally what was posted in the concept forum. Yes, I realize this will probably get deleted about five minutes after I post it, since I'm sharing my and many others opinion, that apparently is greatly disagreed upon by everyone up in SOE land. All I ask is that you take a few minutes and actually look at what EVERYONE is saying in this forum about the subject.

I'd just like to see things go as planed, not something that feels like a half measure... or a potenital nerf.

In my opinion this has to be the single most retarded idea I've heard this week... I say this week for obvious reasons, SOE never ceases to amaze me with its 'out of the box' thinking.
As a smuggler, that's able to solo some pretty high end MELEE stuff rather simply, I am just not willing to put in the work to get these components. I don't care if gawd himself comes in game an tell me "D00d! Slice my gat!" Im just not willing to do it. Im not crafting anything, Im making a minor improvement to gear which could already be very viable without the slice. Alternatively, I am NOT willing to purchase loot components for 1 freakin slice, that's retarded too, a crate of clamps, a crate of WUKs/AUKs sure Id buy that, support your local crafters an all, but the last thing I want to do with my credits is donate to Joe-Lewt-Camper, so I can then slice Bob-Uber-L33t's new krayted BFG.

The only way, I'd be willing to not vomit all over this BS idea is if these components were reusable, like a crafting tool, hell even make them decay like tools. If its going to be hard to aquire then there has to be a benifit other than MINORLY improving one feckin item ONCE. Also, assuming we do our own looting, assume I get a team of 500 crazy azz mofo's to dead run into the current DWB an just happen upon one of these new mystical components, also assuming the group lets me have it an doesn't entertain thoughts of auctioning it for millions... What do I charge clients for a slice with this now, jetpack or krayt pearl equivelent looted SLICE?
"Alright, 23% increase to speed, that'll be 4.8 million please" as if I don't already have a hard enough time explaining prices, this should be much easier to get return business. "Oh you need a 4 weapons sliced hmm... Alright I'll just go gather the components, check back with me in 2 weeks"
Grr... Smuggler love indeed, Im now a spice crafting rootmonkey that gets to be a 'lewt wh0re' as well. While I like the idea of looted components for better CRAFTED items, like pre-CU scythes, an hell didn't even mind paying the prices knowing all the work that went into getting the loot. We are not selling items, we're only esentially selling a perma-PUP. Imagine what the hell its gonna take to get enoughcomponents to slice a full suit of armor...I appreciate the idea... But its idiotic in my opinion, Im afraid to ask, but if plan B is this turd... What's plan C? How bout we just throw the PLANs out the window... If Docs don't needpacks tobuff me, or CMs not needingstims to heal (no more resource hunting) why should we need components to slice?
Again, sorry for the rant... I need beer an pie.

this uber component idea stinks , itl create a 2 tier uber class thatll only be available to the lewt whores an the uber rich , unbalncin an a bad idea , top end slices 'll cost millions , with multiple slices takin ages to get the components , go with the orig idea , change broke to jammed , (carry more than one weapon dumba$$) , jus make the period till a weap jams longer an a lower random chance of jammin, not hard is it
I've never seen somethin be fixed/broke so fast in my life.
As a casual gamer(rl means I cant be the power gamer ill need to be to compete) , this stuff will be outa my reach , a 2 tier unbalanced situation will occur , loot campin the lot.

So far i havent read a posative reply about the slicing system in this thread.......and you wont get one from me 
Wjen i initialy heard about the new slicing changes and read the doc's i liked the idea, it seemed fresh and more interactive with the smuggler. It gave us choice over what to slice but also gave a risk to using sliced weapons. Now usualy i'm not one for ranting and raving, i conider myself a calm player, very chilled out and i dont cause waves lol

We are being shown wonderful in concept docs, having devs actually communicate with us on these matters and tell us about this new shiny land full of dreams lol THEN, THEN they snatch it away like a PIE thief and throw it on the ground infront of our eyes. Its crazy that because they cant be arsed to impliment a system that we have asked for for near 2 years we are getting 1/4 of what was promised. I AM NOT A LOOT CAMPER, I dont have the time to go out for 6 hours and get a group and hit DWB in the hopes of being given all Smuggler loot. Smuggler is getting turned into the b***h to the player base. If you have to buy the loot from jedi loot campers they are gonna charge an arm and a leg thus increasing prices for a slice. If a player comes to you and wants a tier 4 slice what do you say "sorry mate but i dont have any of the components since i cant get a group together for another couple of days". I didnt think i could get so angry at something in a game but damn it i have waited nearly 2 years for this change and this is the poo we get.

PLEASE REVIEW THE CONSIDERATIONS OF THE PLAYERS WHO THIS CHANGE WILL BE MADE FOR IE US THE SMUGGLERS. READ THE THREADS, TAKE NOTES, FORWARD THIS TO WHOEVER MAKES THE TOP CALL.
WE HAVE WAITED AND WAITED AND WAITED AND BEEN PLACED BEHIND OTHER PROFFESSIONS AND BEEN PROMISED LOVE SINCE LAUNCH. THIS IS NOT LOVE, THIS IS MERLY A QUICK SHAG BEHIND A BIKE SHED WITH FAKE SENTAMENTS AS AN AFTER THOUGHT.

Let me get this straight... the 'break' concept 'just wasn't fun'.
Well, I have news for you devs... not everyone who plays this game considers doing combat for their entire playing session 'fun'. Mindlessly grinding hours through mobs for a slicing component isn't worth my time, and therefore, a big part of the game won't be worth my time to me anymore. (I'm a smuggler/entertainer, so don't even get me started on how worthless my other profession will be yet again after BF is removed from the game!).
Make the slicing components a reward for SMUGGLING missions. Not some random drop off of an npc who shouldn't be carrying the component in the first place.
And if you insist upon making these parts a drop, even the most 'rare' ones had better be off of mobs with a CL of a master smuggler, i.e. CL54.Not all of us use one of the 'cookie cutter' CL 80 templates. As I stated above, not all of us are in this game to shoot/bash mobs mindlessly for hours upon hours.

i gotta say i agree totally with Griton...this loot thing is gonna be stupid....ill have no prob getting it tho...least i hope...my guild can help me out with that but i like the idea of weapons being disabled for a bit than this.... other profs get to do stuff without a "source" for it anymore....docs dont need stims, buff packs and stuff they have it as an inate ability...why cant we? i think it should b up to the smuggler for the slice....like u had before...but since less risk...give it less reward make our max % or w/e like 25-30...like the old ways....just what i think....i dont have enough money to buy these Uber loots...i dont have enough skills...i cant do all this kinda stuff
