Hello, I must be going. I cannot stay, I came to say I must be going. I'm glad I came but just the same I must be going.

I'm planning on "Smuggling" a Guinness back into the office after lunch. I think it's a fairly sound plan.

I was about to get all dispondent, but then I remembered I have a crate of beer just waiting to be picked up from a friends house ... although not sure I'll get a chance to drink it as I'm moving back from my student/term house to back home ... Very odd feeling indeed.

And nothing says "I'm home from school for good" like coming home with all your belongings and drunk as a skunk.

At your friend's house, eh?

Are you gonna Smuggle it home, or just smuggle it home?

Soooooo, I'm bored at work so I'll indulge you with a story you probably don't care about. To set the background, my birthday is April 29th. University here ends around April 25-30th. Those of you in school knows this means moving. Moving on your birthday, let me tell you, sucks. Moving on your birthday 5 years in a row... sucks more. So that's the background.

I was living in the dorm and had a sweet, kind, loving, and generally happy fuzzy girlfriend. So move out day is, of course, my birthday. And of course we throw a big party the day before move out. Because really, what else ya gunna do? Study?

We got together and pooled our cash and splurged on around several hundred bucks worth of booze. Quite a bit for a single floor in a dorm. And we also threw in all of our own stuff as well that we wanted to get rid of. You name it, we had it. We drank, we played drinking games, we got yelled at by security. All in all a good ole time.

Then it happened. My girlfriend at the time finished off a 26 of tequilla all by her self. She's not a big girl. Just shy of 100lbs. So wasted. La la la. Happy happy fun. It's my birthday party (I keep telling myself), I'm having a good time. Sadly her body didn't take well to having that much intoxication poured into it. Not well at all.

I ended up having to take care of her. Trying to convince her that sleeping in the bathroom under the sink was not the best place. I actually had to wait for her to pass out before I could move her. Anyways... smart girl. Really smart. Sometimes very very dumb.

Like her idea of 'Oh, I'll just pack my entire room after the party! My parents won't be here until 9am. That will give me lots of time!' So I had to pack up her *entire* dorm room, while I myself was rather blasted, and make sure she didn't die or anything. Then morning came like a hammer through the skull. I had a hangover, and it showed. And she... well she was still 3 sheets to the wind and reaking of tequilla.

This was how I met her parents. Not the best impression to make. Even though we were together for about 3 years after that, and I was always the perfect sober gentalmen, I'm sure they still blame me for the state their innocent little angel was in.

So that's my going home drunk story. My parents, knowing me better, came to get me at around 4 in the afternoon.

I worked a summer at a customs station on the US/Canada border. Man. To see some of the stupid ways and things people try to smuggle... it's insane.

Rum in the 2nd gas tank.
Weed in open paper grocery bags in the back seat and a dube behind the ear.
Mickies of booze in peoples hats.

And man. Worst for trying to smuggle stuff across was the musicians on their road shows. Big name acts. All the time. "No man. Those ten thousand t-shirts are mine. We aint gunna sell 'em."
