Thread: Problem now and in future with pre patch sliced weaponry.

Since pre patch sliced weaponry and armor, can't be resliced, and revert back to "pre slice stats" (My weapons did)

And they also lost the "has been sliced" tag.

How are we going to see, on bazaar, on vendors, on examination of weapons, if they are old sliced weapons or not when we buy them?

I can only imagine, you buying a 500k gun, that has not "sliced" tag, and good stats..And then find it can't be sliced? Ouch

Huh?? I was under the impression that prepatch items retained their sliced stats..

If this is true, then Wes needs to get on this. NOW. This basically obsoletes every weapon in-game! And it's likely to get me (and most other guild/WS smugglers) tarred and feathered, since I had an army of friends want their equipment sliced before the CU *and* before 19. I'm not real excited about logging in today and telling them that not only did they waste their money slices, their weapons are now inferior to anything sliced post-patch.

Or it was a way to get all those pre-CU weapons on a level playing field with everything else. A balance pass, if you will.

It all comes back to people trying to use the system before a big change comes in. Sounds like they found a way to fix that.

I do believe weapons that were sliced pre-publish 19 retain the improvements, but the problem is that upon examining these weapons the text in that box about 'this weapon has been altered...' has vanished. This can - and no doubt WILL - cause headches for lots of us - we can only hope that the devs do something about this pronto.

Wow...pronto - I never thought I'd have an excuse to use that word. That's how bad this situation is: I'm resorting to using words out of a Thesaurus :?

I was able to re-slice a gun i had equiped, i swear it was already sliced but i may be wrong. ALL my pre-sliced vendor stock has "sliced" tags removed and they are not slicable. WTH am i supposed to charge for a krayt laser rifle that is now un-slicable? I hope they patch this cuz your right, almost every current weapon is obsolete now if it has been sliced unless it is stat capped. I have a vendor full of crated tools that are now useless also? When is this going to end? When all the veterans are begging for money in Eisley with the noobs?

Well, that would fix the economy inflation, wouldn't it?

EDIT: I just checked my pre-19 weapons and armor, and they appear to be ok. Old slice %s appear to have been retained. Or at least the enc increases have been.

We still need to get the previously-sliced message reapplied, though. There are just toooo many shady characters (like me!)that are gonna resell their mediocre (and presliced) equipment at big markups in hopes of confusing a few customers.

Well, I have no "proof", but asking around my PA , and the general feeling was that weapons had reverted to pre slice.

I dunno.

All I know, is that my Plasma flamer, is not as strong today as yesterday, and that is with the added elemental.

And the lack of "slice tag" on old sliced weapons is and WILL be a problem.

I can confirm that your weapon kept its slice but no longer shows that it is sliced and can not be sliced in the new system.

My weapons i have has a title of base DPS before slice to be able to confirm this!

I have pre 19.0 Massassi Knucklers. They are named "MASSASSI KNUCKLER114-237 2.23s 78dps".

The current stats are 2.23 speed, 129-263 damage.

I'd say they retained their pre-19.0 slice, but are not slicable.

Yes it'll be an issue when you buy pre-19.0 stuff thinking it can be sliced to be better but it cannot.

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.
