Thread: Critical Hit Chance Slice does not work.

Looking through the first two pages I couldn't find a post about is, but if there is I apologize for the confusion and inconvenience caused.

I've run a little test with a Survival Knive sliced for 3% Crit Hit Chance.. I used it on low level creatures outside of Mos Eisley as they don't have damage reduction and won't regenerate too much during the fight. The very low damage weapon would still allow me a few hits before the Creature dies.. so here goes:

Knife used:

Speed: 2.3
Dam: 17-51 (Every hit of the weapon did exactly 51 points of damage)
Slice: 3% Critical Hit Chance


1st Fight with a Crit:
The Crit was on the 2nd attack.
Combat spam didn't report any extra Damage.
Mob had 363/465 HP left after it.
465 - 2 * 51 = 363

2nd Fight with a Crit:
Again a Crit on the 2nd attack.
Combat spam didn't report any extra Damage.
Mob had 199/301 HP left after it.
301 - 2 * 51 = 199

3rd Fight with a Crit:
Crit on the 7th attack.
No additional Damage reported in spam.
86/433 HP left
433 - 7 * 51 = 76 (the creature regenerated 10 HP during the battle)

I did a few more of those, but they all show the same picture.. that Critical Hit slices do not work right now. Would like to hear your results from similar tests or if I miss something..

I didn't do any tests but my experiences tend to support your results. I got several criticals but never noticed any extra damage being dealt.

Make sure to /bug it so the Devs can possibly get around to maybe fixing it within the next year or two... hopefully.

Use nothing but critical and watch the damage "over the target's head". You will see a difference there. On a 2k hit normally, I get 2500 when I land a "critical". May just be a combat chat problem. But as far as I know, the damage over the head is the acctual damage you are doing after armor mitigation.

Maybe it's bugged for the slice though. I am master BH so I already have a critical shot and in the TC patch notes it said it would add to any chance you already had. I did notice a slight increase in the frequency of critical shots and the damage was there, but that may be because I already had a critical shot chance cause of the special. My weapon has the most basic 3% critical chance slice.

I'm obviously not talking about a Critical Shot/Strike ability here.

I was only attacking on auto with the most basic attack (Melee Hit). I never noticed a higher Number floating over their heads either when I got a +Critical+

Perhaps the +Critical+ on such a low damage weapon is insignificant. Maybe it is less than one point of damage increase? How much more damage is a +Critical+ supposed to do?

I believe it's a flat 25% damage increase on the BHs Critical Shot and the Swordman's Critical Hit. I would think that the same should apply here.
