Thread: Small changes that could satisfy my concerns about the Smuggler Profession

I've about lost faith in the concept of there being this holy grail Smuggler Revamp. If it happens you know, great, but if not, here's my plea.


1) Reinstate Slicing XP - I just think it's weird that you need Pistol XP to go up the Slicing Ladder. Combat should not make you a better slicer. There used to be Slicing XP and it needs to go back in, if you ask me. Also, if you could make Slicing more intricate, I'd appreciate it.


2) Unarmed? - We need it to become a Smuggler. We receive bonuses for it in our skillboxes, but we receive no actual unarmed skills. I for one think our attacks should be able to be used for both Unarmed -and- Pistol combat. I mean, a Low Blow sounds more like an Unarmed type of thing, anyway. Change the XP to Combat XP and make the amount required per box as necassry. Please humor us people who want to brawl close quarters also with the points we need to put into it. Let us be real dirty fighters.


3) Underworld - This is where Smuggling missions need to happen. And don't tell me it can't be done. All of the rightful elements needed are already in-game. Enemies can be spawned near you to attack you (in one of the new player quests), Deliver missions are already in place. Visibility used to be in place with Jedi and player Bounties are in place. Faction points are in place. You mix these together, and you have basic Smuggling missions. Moved up through Smuggling XP.


4) Spice - This should also be a Smuggling XP tree. Smugglers generally don't make the goods they smuggle, so I don't see why Smugglers should be crafting Spice. The skill box names already make the categorization. You get a Smuggle assignment to bring Giggledust from point A to point B. In mid-transit, you slice the container, take a cut of the spice, deliver it as per. You take too much, you chance higher visibility. Spice then becomes a tough commodity to come by, and if it made effective enough, could become quite a lucrative business with obvious drawbacks.


I don't think these things are necassarily impossible, or unreasonable.

Great options for a smuggler upgrade. Now if only we thought it might happen.

Thanks a lot. I don't think it's unreasonable at all, either. It'd even boost the economy some, in some ways. Maybe make some loot only able to be ripped off in Smuggling missions. Stuff like that.
