...and I wanted to thank Nicolas_Frost, LM, and the others who helped me out in getting to this point. It was one of the most fun activities I've had in space.

This was not a brief endeavor, either. The first time we attempted the Corvette, the group got it halfway down when it went into hyperspace. That was a downer for sure; we thought we had it beat, and had taken a beating to get to that point. To watch it leave was deflating to say the least. In factI was on my way back from getting"involuntary repairs" when I watched it race awayand out of sight.

Facing a lot of time until the next spawn, we decided to help one of the group with his tier 4 mission. It took 3 attempts but we finally got it, then headed back to Kessel to see if the Star Ravager was back in the system. At the time, with the entire group of 6 ships assembled, there was no Corvette to be seen.

We lingered a while, sitting poised in a spot set to observe when the corvette comes into Kessel. We talked a bit about piloting and abilities, the use of various chassis, etc...I was a few minutes away from calling it a night, to be truthful. It was well after midnight, and I was pumkinizing at an alarming rate - not a good sign for good performance on the hardest mission in the piloting tree.

I decided to click through the available targets one more time, when it popped in. "There it is!" I said, and the race was on. Could the 6 of us take it down before it hypered out of the system again?

Nicolas was able to lure the fighter screen away from the capital ships, and with little effort we were able to turn them into space debris. With Nicolas leading the way, we lined up on the first gunship and made our run, guns blazing, focusing on one target to maximize the damage potential. Shields were dropping on both sides, and one by one, members of our group would do a fast turn and claw out of the gunships range as they got close to their comfort limit. We regrouped for a second pass, and by the time we had all turned again for a third regrouping, the first gunship was vaporized.

We nursed our shields back to health as we watched the second gunship take the position of the first directly behind the corvette. When we were all ready, we dumped the throttle and went in for the first run on this Gunship. Unfortunately for me, something serious got ahold of my rear shields and within a matter of seconds, I found myself at the Dathomir Space Station needing repairs - again.

I needed to get back into the sector and back to the group ASAP, so I repaired up as best I could then used every shortcut I could think of to get back to Kessel fast. I could follow the battle through group chat as they started working on the vette and taking down weapon after weapon.

By the time I had rejoined the battle, the corvette had lost its teeth and the group was frantically working at knocking down the rest of it. Someone started yelling "STOP SHOOTING! WAIT FOR SHREN!" so I replied "I'm HERE!" and within moments, they were telling me to target the bridge and take it out.

Sweeping in from the front, I lined up my reticle on the bridge target and within a handful of shots, the corvette erupted into a blazing fireball and I had succeeded in my mission.

The adrenaline was flowing after that and I found it hard to drop off to sleep when I finally did go to bed. I remember when grouping for the harder ground missions was required for success, but over time have become used to the best armor, best buffs, and ueber weapons we can all get ahold of on the ground. This, to me, is what playing a game like this is all about - I had a blast, I made some new friends and aquiantances who may become friends, who knows. And I owe each of them a debt of gratitude for helping me with this mission. None of them had to, and none of them got any real gain from it. I was the only one to get his Master Title last night.

But out of the goodness of their heart they decided to help me to attain something I could not have done alone. Thanks, guys and gal. I owe you all many many thanks. I shall wear the helmet that takes away my neck with pride, and will always remember what it took to get it.

Trust me, there was gain for most of us.

For myself and other Masters, we gained Pilot Prestige(instead of experience), which is spent in 30000 blocks to enter Kessel.
For non-masters below the final skill box in Tier 4, massive experience was gained.
Also, credits were earned, as all ships in kessel have quite a bit of credits to be earned.
For those who were Overt, quite a bit of faction was gained.

Hardly anyone got nothing out of the deal.

Congrats! I think I attempted the corvette over 20 times. You have any idea how hard it is for an Imperial to assemble a force to take out Star Ravager?

Congratulations, Shren! It was great fun, and reminded me of why this game can SO rock. It was great to read a recap of the battle.

And yes, many thanks to Nicholas, Kvin, Mallic and Cizzax -- they were instrumental in completing the mission!

(And the jury is out as far as I am concerned on my Rihk -- damn thing could NEVER be called nimble! LOL)

Congrats, it sounds like great fun. I wish I could have found a group like that to do my master mission with. Unfortunately it never lined up and I ended up having to solo it (actually I solo it regularly now when I run into people stuck at 4.4.4.4 for a long time because they can't find groups). It got the mission done, but wasn't as much fun as it had the potential to be
