I realize the time of the morning it is...but I want to point out that as of 4:37am U.S. Central time, 20% of our front page (not counting stickies) is spam.

20%...1/5...of our front page is now spamage. I understand a post here or there by a newbie or something, that's no big deal. It happens. But, what we're seeing is a build-up.

A couple of posts were made selling/buying Smuggler stuff. So another person saw these and posted one as well. And then another. And another.

I think, if Wes would be so kind, that our correspondant should take 2 minutes to make a new thread thread simply stating that this forum is not for trade and that any one who needs to post Smuggling services or trade should take their post to their respective galaxy's trade forum.

Galaxy Trade Forums are for the purpose of "posting any in game sales/purchases."

Profession Forums are for "any discussion about the Smuggler profession."

It's just getting a little out of control and most people doing this are newbies and really don't know much better. That's why I think a friendly post that's easily visible could help. If it doesn't, then we get the pitch forks, torches, and fishbrains can break out the Capitol One barbarians

And as for our spam, it's a certain class of spam since it's in the Smuggler Forum, some of the spam in other proffessions

Every thread that is stickied about it not being a trade forum fails miserably. A far better stickied thread would be a list thread listing off smugglers in your galaxy with that. People actually could look through it to get a list of names. That helps a little bit. Sadly this is not a trade forum rarely works. Inevitably the spam poster gets attention by someone faster on a profession forum rather then a trade forum. Its usually pity kind of thing. Ok I feal sorry for you I will be sure to help you out kind of thing.

There just is not much we can do about it is there. People tend to ignore stickies. Just go right to what they want. I agree its annoying the galaxy trades are for this purpose alone. Maybe a better idea would be for them to remove the galaxy trades, and revamp the auction chat. That might help a little bit.
