positive FP for both faction? Meaning, I buy 2K fp of Rebel faction and then I see my Imp smuggler friend and he sells me 2K of Imp faction. Is this possible. I don't see why it shouldn't be, but with this game you never know. Thanks for the input

Well...as an Imp, I can hold a certain amount of positive Rebel FP...though I have no idea what that number is.
My real question is, "Why would you want to?"
It really doesn't do anything for you, other than allow you to readily switch sides if you're neutral. And even then, you have to have less than 200 opposing FP.
In other words, if you want to join the Imperials, you have to have less than 200 Rebel FP, and vice-versa if you want to join the Rebellion.
You can't be a member of both at the same time, and you lose all of your rank if you drop out of one faction to join the other...

The rank of Colonel also has its perks as far as faction sales, making it smarter to pick a side and stick with it.

if you have 200 or more of the other faction, the recruiter wont talk to you. he will tell you he dont deal with your kind or something like that.
also if you want to sell faction anything under colonel really isnt cost effective to sell it. but if you just want to be able to switch sides, you can always sell your current fp to the other recruiter then buy enough xp to get you in. confusing but simple once oyu try it.

In this messed up game its not only possible but easily done. You as a neutral simply have to do the warren, and get a set of disks like rebel order or imperial plans and give them to a recruiter.
Is it worth while yes.
If your into being a smuggler spy. Which means you switch sides to go check out a bases destruct times, and want to be able to switch. I can tell you a number of bhs used to do this in the past. For the invest xp that came from sliceing terminals. They would go imp check out the bases and the timers, and then the next day they would come back and slice all the terminals for serious and fast xp.
You just got to be real careful with how much FP you get so its quick to switch sides.

Something has changed, and you can no longer do this. As a Colonel, I can look at a terminal for an Imp base and see when the next maintenance cycle starts, but I can't see when the next vulnerability time is. I've tried this both overt and covert and it doesn't work. The only way you can see the vuln time is to actually be the person who planted the base.

Yeah thats been that way for awhile, but I am talking about seeing the terminals that spawn when a base is vulnerable. These guys would take the time to work out when these bases were vulnerable by checking them for terminals. Then they would write down the times, and do the drifting math when it still applied. That way ever day for five or six hours they might just go about hitting bases and sliceing the terminals. Bases give great invest xp. Infact alot of bhs got the majority of invest xp hitting bases over and over.
This was back when doing a 50 minute bounty mission paid out like only 75 points so back then it was a big deal getting to get 500 invest xp just be sliceing one terminal in a base.
Right now though I suppose it might be worth doing so you can start off doing the imperial themepark and then switching up to the rebel so you can get both rewards from each faciton.

That is exactly why I wantto. To be able to switch sides with ease. Thanks for the responses
