Thread: Mol Clamps schematic? Slicing 4 useless?

Hi, I'm sooooo close to master smuggler! I have Slicing 4, and I'd like to sell crates of Mol Clamps and Laser Knives etc. How do I make schematics for these? I try crafting near a Weapon, Droid, and General Item Station, but I don't get the option. I'm using a generic crafting tool.
Also, as a "Slicer" should I start slicing in public now? Is there demand for a non-master smuggler? How much should I charge?

Dump the Generic Crafting Tool and pick up a Weapon, Droid, Generic Item Crafting Tool. You must use the tool that matches the station if you expect to get a schematic.

actually in my experince average jimmy dip#### customer doesnt know the difference betten a level 4 slicer and a master smuggler. If your looking for a fair price go for about 7k a slice depending on what the competition sells.

Well the competition on Eclipse sells for 2.5k a slice..... way below 7k. I would advice to go below the 5k. Why?
#1 Resources cost only 1cpu if you look hard enough. Quality doesn't matter so tools are easily made.
#2 More slices... if you slice for 7k an armor suit costs 63k to slice, that's a lot of money a lot of people don't want to pay extra for some less encum and a bit more protection (talking bout grinding and low/med lvl pve). 20k is fair and most players are willing to pay. You still make some profit.
And the diffirence between master smuggler and slicing IV?? Well I can't tell you, but I do know that with the title master smuggler you get a lot more customers for slicing.

The difference on weapons is; 30% max for Slicing 4 and 35% max for Master Smuggler. The entire distribution ships UP which, if I were a customer, would make a big difference.

2.5k a slice on Eclipse is the competitions? who is this mythical competition you speak of? 
normally i charge 5k per slice and i'm considered one of the cheapest slicers around, when a line forms cuz i was standing around too long, i get upset and my price doubles, sadly, doesnt make the line go away 
and the bell curve moves 5% for masters over slicing 4. Masters min and max are 5% higher then level 4's.

yeah clamp sales are slow. I've had a vendor with them on twice. Once was back with the merchant vendor bug while holo grinding was still around. Business was okay but I still made more selling resources that I didn't make into clamps, wuk, auk, knives and spice.
I opened one up when I rejoined the game and without the holo grind business was so slow, same with resources, my slice weapons and armour vendor did okay. I recently dropped merchant to pick up swordsman and medic and now make more money as a loot whore.
Why do I not drop Smuggler to make my loot whore template better?It was my first proffesion mastered after master marksman and though I've come very close to dropping the whole thing, was down to 4000 at one point, I never have and never will.
Oh one more thing if your making a whole batch of of mol clamps. 40 x 25 crates you'll need 40000 unites of same metal and 50000 unites of non ferrous metal. Your better off just getting a 90k stack of low qualitity aliminium (sp?) or copper. +90 units to make the schematic. Hope this helps.

I suppose in a sense smuggling is 'swindling' legitimate governements of tarifs but I don't think that's what you had in mind. So...I don't think 'swindling' has anything to do with smuggling, sorry.

Dont know if it has been said already but you should be near a private crafting station... weapon, droid, and general crafting station and tool and you should be able to get option for schematic. Then get a factory and start it up.. you will need power for factory.

I know we don't smuggle. I've been around. Perhaps you might open your mind for a second and let the criminality of being a smuggler soak into you.
You don't have to be so negative, I haven't attacked you personally and trust me, I understand that some people are tired of playing a "criminal" profession, but that is what a smuggler is... a criminal. And guess what? Smugglers break the law in other ways than just shipping contraband. Yep, they kill people, cheat people, and swindle. So I guess the joke is on you.
