I've been a Master Smuggler (on my alt thank you) for over 5 months now. I have rarely used the smuggler's abilities

Since I am in need of a profession that actually has benefits, I was thinking of taking chef... those buffs are rather good and chefs can now make a killing if they market correctly.

Anyway, my main question/concern is, I put alot of effort to become Master Smuggler and I would hate to give it up if there was a reason to keep it. Right now there isnt one. Chef is actually more enticing. But I think of the JTLS publish and I wonder if that expansion will make the smuggler shine.

What is the smuggler's role in JTLS. Since the devs refused to put any kind of crafting advantageinto the SPACE expansion (/startSarcasm no mining of any kind... brilliant move /endSarcasm) it would seem to me that other than space combat, the SPACE expansion would be mainly in the smugglers realm.

I've looked at all the stickies on top and I cannot find detailed information to what my questions are.

Can anyone inform me on why I should keep smuggler?

Thanks in advance.

I think this is a Good Question... I agree with you, Space is where the smuggler should really shine. With endless Imperial blockades, and contraband searches, space would be a "Smugger's" Ideal home.

Think of Han Solo, modifying a YT-1300 so he could do spice runs... it would be a dream for a smuggler to own that kind of ship. That is why i personnally believe that Jump to Light Speed should be focused on people involved in the Galactic Civil War and people in the Bounty hunter and smuggler profession.

Smugglers should be able to transport people across space and avoid imperial blockades, carry illegal cargo, and "my personal favourite" smuggle Jedi and rebels.

Bounty hunters should be able to track ongoing flights from space ports, and if a Jedi knight wants to move from planet to planet, he should inlist the help of a Smuggler for transportation to avoid being found by a Bounty Hunter. Overt Rebels who dont want to be attacked in space can get a smuggler to take them to their destination.

The idea's are endless, seeing as carrying around illegal items on "Public Starships" is highly unlikely... (where are all the imperial officers checking bagage?) Owning your own ship seems to be the only way to survive as a smuggler.

If you're not set on any other skills, you can be a Master Smuggler and a Master Chef with some points left over...

Well Im a chef now and Im slowly dropping it for Smuggler, My reasons are, BE's LOL

Seroiusly unless you either become one or now of a Extremly well stocked and cheap BE your going to hate it as only synthsteak has a market for Non-BE products and its safe to say BE's in a sense control the market for chef foods as they have the pricing power of the components.

Also your probably going to need to take up merchant to be a decent Chef to and start looking for extra experiment points too.

Just my 2 cents tho
