Thread: What is our average Income?

Well I'm Master Pistoleer/Smuggler 0-4-4-4( I get the rest of it tonight)...and I have been trying to find out how much in a good day you can earn. I understand it depends on the prices of slicing, if you sell faction points(currently Warrant Officer). Im guessing the market is overflowed with spices...I like having a purposed while playing..I can either go and PvP with my guild..or work on the underground side of the business,especially since my alt is Master Merchant,Architect,Weaponsmith,Tailor,Armorsmith(not master of course). Or can I earn more by just going BHp4(I know Im tired of this too, but its so tempting) and hunt marks and grouping with a solo group for cash? I'm about to flip a coin here!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

At Master Smuggler on Eclipse in Coronet, I can easily pull in 100-150k an hour. I charge 5k flat rate, so that's just a couple suits of comp and some weapons. During peak time, this can obviously increase and I'm often in /tell-hell when I'm slicing.
You can make money much faster by taking solo missions, especially if you slice the terminal. But I find running missions is so terribly boring that I cannot stand it at times.
Not to mention how much I enjoy railing on people when they argue about my prices or withholding their weapons when they "suddenly run out of money."

I do not spend a lot of time doing 'smuggler' stuff anymore. I slice when asked, I sell faction when asked ... but I do not seek the business anymore.
If I don't make six figures in a day, I am surprised (or hiding and doing my own thing). On days that I spend in Coronet or something if I don't make $500k, I am surpised. On days that I do faction, I am surprised if I do not make seven figures profit.
Overall, my total cash on hand (after all expenses including paying to level up a Master DE and giving away millions) have gone up about $125 million since the new year.

That's the same way it is for me, I don't stand around in Coronet and spam. I usually have business in the city or right outside tending my vendors. I don't find customers, they find me.

I agree that it isn't right to shout for slicing, but on the few occasions that Ihave put my tag on and mosied around Coro or Theed, I never have had anyone approach me for a slice. Granted even though I have been a master for almost a year, I almost never wear my tag, and have never shouted for slices.
All of my slices have come from referrals or from guildies. I've never had much need for credits in game, but now I find myself wanting to gear up for JTL and wanting some of the high end pistols...for which I do need creds.
So how else can i go about making money slicing, if I don't spam in the starports?
PS- I sat in Coro for 3 hours last Saturday night with my tag on, and got no bites.

I'm Lodo Ektatu on Bloodfin, and since i mastered smuggler last week i've made a few hundred thousand with slicing (i charge a 5k flat rate and i don't spam but i do wear my tag). I'm usually hanging around the Bestine Cantina and i'll get a few bites a night. I'm just doing enough to live. Not trying to become super rich (though i'm not against it).
The problem with sitting in Coronet and not spamming is that people probably don't see you or they don't want to deal with slicing. I have rarely gotten /tells for slicing when i've been in Coronet and elsewhere. I almost always get them when i am just sitting around chatting with the entertainers.
Today i was just walking right near the Bestine Starport and i was approached for slicing. The funny thing was there was another smuggler spamming about his shop and services. Go figure.
Hopefully i can build up a regular customer pool, or at least have people who'll refer their friends to me.

Indeed, they find me!Its isnt right when other smuggler shout that they are slicing weapons or armor.

I havent yet mastered i'm 0444 (close) and so far money has been a real problem. Spices dont sell much, prices are way down i've seen 2500 per crate, tho averages seem to be 5k. I make my best money doing missions with my CH friend and having our pets tank. So anyhow as far as being smuggler and getting there, i'm way far in the red with this profession for all the stuff i've had to buy, containers, clamps etc...
and i've gathered most of my own resources, maintenance and all told i'd have to say millions in the red.

I really don't make a lot from my profession. I'm too lazy to grind to Colonel to sell faction, spice sales are down to a trickle, and I got fed up with public slicing. Most of my money nowadays comes from missions. I won't give master smuggler up though; I'm odd that way

I make more money from missions than anything smuggler-related. In fact, I've made more money in the last three monthsdoing resource speculation, then I have in six months of selling faction.
The problem is, at least on Intrepid, people don't want to buy bases/turrets anymore (considering how easily they are destroyed) and conversions (transferring 5200 Rebel points) amount tochump change in terms of effort required, and profit margin.
It takes me 7 minutes to transfer faction for a conversion, but when you add in traveling time and waiting time the average time cost is 30 minutes. I make a profit of 130k per conversion.On the other hand, Icould have made that in little over 4 janta missions on Dantooine, plus potentially have gotten some bloods/hides to give to guildies. Also, people who want conversions, want them asap, so they won't wait for an appointment, and charging more for conversions is impossible (on Intrepid) because of every other Rebel smuggler that charges 110 credits/point.
At least on the Imp side you can sell fp's to people wanting AT-ST's for raising mission difficulty, or Imperial crafters who want to get by contraband scans, or people that want to buy stormtrooper armor for their house. Rebels don't have any cool perks (aside from the Marine boots and backpack) that people want to pay exorbitant sums of credits for.
As for the average income question, if you have a combat profession with smuggler, I believe you shouldn't do anything that doesn't make you at least 300k per hour (the minimum you can make doing jantas). That means if you slice, you should charge enough money to make you 300k per hour, and if you do faction, you should try to line people up for appointments (if possible) or only take on big orders.

Heh, I make all my money selling resources. Over 2 million creditsthe past two weeks. I rarely slice for money (though I'll slice for friends, free), never sell faction, and have only made about 20-30k selling spices.

I make mine selling pre sliced weapons and loot.
only with weapons, if I run my shop well, wich means full stock and advertising, I can do between 1 and 2 millions a day, it can go up to 4 or 5M if I stock cool rare stuff or loot.
but lately I've been too busy to level pikeman and hunt NS for my own pikes, and I'm trying to get in the krayt enhanced gear business, wich is quite hard, but quite cool
