Sorry to bang on about this, but I keep reading conflicting reports about the status of slicing, and I was hoping you might give me/us a definitive answer as the stability/status of the slicing system.

Here's my experiences thus far, since the CU:

Sliced approximately 20 weapons, and some of the numbers just don't seem to add up. Example: slicing result is listed as 5% damage, but the speed goes up instead, not the damage range or the DPS, just the speed. Example: negative slice result.

Sliced 3 sets of armour, and even though I receive a percentage increase result, the stats on the armour have not changed at all. I considered that this may be due to the armour being converted and automatically being maxed out, but I haven't as yet been able to check this.

Is there any official word on the status of slicing at the moment, because I'm very confused, to the point that I am currently not slicing items.

No real need to ask Wes, since any Smuggler who hangs around the forums a lot can answer this....

Slicing is kinda borked at the moment. It's not going to get fixed until the new Slicing system gets here, and we've been told that it will be here "soon".

I'm not slicing any decent weapons or armor until after it gets here, and lots of other Smugglers are doing the same. No way I'm taking a chance on a nice weapon just to get a -3% speed slice, or something like that.

I do hang around here often, pretty much once a day or so since 2003

I asked for Wes specifically just because of that. There's a lot of conflicting threads around the forums, and I was hoping Wes might have some official cookies to hand out or something. Mind you, now that I think of it, if he did have something he'd have already said it (if he was allowed to). So I guess...ignore this thread
