I haven't been a smuggler for as long as most of you but for the better part of 9 months, I have played atleast 4 hours a day if not more. I have learned many things in my time. However, what I don't understand is why they keep messing with concussion shot.

Let's take a look at it.

When the CU hit, we had a 40 second root. I thought to myself, "This is way cool. I can just root these suckers and plug away." This was the first time that I had ever felt that the smuggler profession was viable in any type of battle situation whether it be PvE against the almight Krayt Dragons or PvP against those 3 BH/MR sniping me. 40 seconds was in my opinion a long time, but what can you do about that. The voices of the other Professions spoke up and had a fit that we were powerful now.

Well this got answered and they turned out nice 40 second root into a Mez/Root. So not our root which would keep someone in one spot for 40 secs and would allow them to heal, eat, drink and attack has now been turned into a Paralization move where they are rooted and dazed. This could be a good thing, however if the target gets hit, by another player or even a durni rabbit, then they are set free from the effects of the move. I thought that this was pretty good and I could still function some what effectively. But, as always, other Professions complained because they got stuck in one place, unable to do anything for, wait for it people, 40 seconds.

So now comes patch 20. Great. They have now lowered concussion shot down to half. This takes away alot of the crowd control abilities of the smuggler and in my opinion make us a 2-3 in CC. This isn't very good because Smugglers do not have an actual root like some other professions.

So here's what I would like to see happen if possible. Since we already have a daze effect with panic shot and since they have beat our beloved concussion shot with the nerf bat, I would like to see who would like to have it turned back into a standard root and have it last for 20 seconds and possibly be on a 40second cooldown timer. That way it would be more like stopping shot where you could use the shot but then not be able to use it again for another 40 seconds.

the 20 second reduction isn't the worst of it....the 30 second aggro everything gets + mez invulnerability is a nice little addition to their insult.

I keep Master Smuggler only for the slicing now. I make a ton of money off of that...but combat-wise this profession is borderline useless. Reckless shot does barely any more damage than Pistoleer's body shot AND it gives you -80 to your defense. Wow....

Now I keep reading about people with Slicing 4 able to do 100% customizations, I think it's time to join those who left and just keep 0400 Smuggler because frankly, we are horrid at crowd control now. Low Blow's supposed to slow the enemy down...I NEVER see a speed difference in my target. I sat there with a stopwatch timing NPC attacks...the difference between no states and Low Blow? A pretty Icon that goes away in about 10 seconds. Yaaaay for us.

Smuggler had something powerful, and once more the PvP monkeys of the BH/Jedi killed us because if they couldn't use it, they wanted it nerfed.To call this lame-ass is a massive understatement. If that's not bad enough...try being a commando too. It was awesome when we had the mega-root. But now they have no specials of their own, only 1 weapon worth using (Plasma Flamethrower) and that defeats all our mezzes because it sticks a Heat DoT on the enemy. Pistoleer is by far a better crowd controller than we are. They have Stopping Shot, Disarming Shot, Warning Shot and a few others. We've got 2 dazes that are broken if someone on the planet sneezes. As a Pistoleer too I would NEVER want a nerf, they've been bent over for so long it's not even funny.

It's just time to truly face the music. Nobody upstairs cares about us if we're not swinging a lightsaber or hunting those that do.

Uhh... I haven't done any combat since Publish 20...

... you mean to tell me that Concussion Shot went from 40 seconds to 20?

Please tell me that I didn't read this right.

Don´t fool yourself, Angus. It was probably a last minute change and they were too lazy to change the notes. They certainly did,´t care about our feelings -that much should have become obvious by now.
