I'm new to this game but have been playing other SOE games (EQ, EQ2, PS) for a couple of years now. I'm looking forward to playing a smuggler in SWG but I want to be able to smuggle once I start the Smuggler profession. It is obvious that the smuggler community need to get the attention back from the devs or even better, the producer... Last dev post about a Smuggler revamp I can find is in the "In development" forum and is more than a year old! That is not "in development", that is more like "Completely forgotten". I've never seen an "In development" post in any of the other games which is then completely ignored by the devs. "In concept" yes, but not "In development".

So, how about we throw out a couple of ideas of what to do to get some attention again? Then we decide what suggestions to go ahead with and start making some noise. After all, making trouble and bending/breaking rules to get things done is what smuggler do, right?

I'll start...

1. Sit in, or whatever it is called. Like the warriors did a few years back in EQ. I saw a post saying this is no longer allowed as it is is considered to disrupt game play and thus violates the UELA. Well, I still think it is a valid option to get attention. Sort of like civil disobedience... Select a date, time and heavily populated server, sit down outside the Mos Eisley cantina and start chanting "Smuggling for smugglers" or something like that.

2. Some posts lead me to believe that some SOE/SWG rep. said we should RP smuggling... that is just plain wrong. But ok, lets RP smuggling. On the forums. We smuggle messages into other forums. Our own messages and other peoples messages. We post anything for anyone as long as the price is right or serve our cause. Payment can be anything from in game payment to general praise of our services here on the forums. Every message we smuggle should start with "This messsage was smuggled here". The first message to smuggle into the other forums could be something like "Let smugglers smuggle!". Maybe followed by a description of how our message smuggling business works... This might very well be considered as disrupting the forums, but maybe we can get away with it saying we are just doing what they told us to do in the first place... RP

3. Petition. Personally I dont really like petitions but if it gets the work done... which I doubt. Anyway, petition statement should be short and simple... "Sign if you think smuggler should be able to actually smuggle" or something like that. Link to the petition could be smuggled into other forums as described in 2.

That is all the ideas I can come up with now... As I said, I'm new to this game so please let me know if some/all of these have been tried before or if something else has been tried and if it worked. Also, I might be wrong in some of my assumptions/facts. If so, please let me know.

...What do you think we did in the last TWO years? WE, the Smugglers, collected, rewrite, reviewed enough ideas and content related to smuggling for the next decade! There is only one thing left to do. A punch in the face of the devs to make them actually listen!

I'll start...

Like you said, against EULA and can get you banned. This makes me f*cking angry! I am not allowed to demonstrate! It will only get me beamed into space and my account suspended.

Smuggling posts into other forums leads to trolling, trolling leads to getting reported, getting reported leads to being banned. It has been done. More than once.

...do I even have to say something about petitions?

I think they will only listen if you demonstrate with a huge crowd right under their window!

freakin wookies demnaded armor this way.....they stood in the c-net starport crashing the servers...demanding armor.....

now, we ALL know that wookies didnt wear armor during battles....even the manual stresses the point that wookies dont wear armor....well they protested and got thier armor....and it has.............feathers on it.

then everyone protested the CURB and.....nothing happened....

point is, no one will listen until thier wallets get thinner. we are not just PLAYERS...we are PAYERS

Anyone live near Austin Texas who fancies dropping offprint-outs of the Smuggler Issues thread and some other choicestickies from this forum into their reception?

Mark the envelope FAO Mr Dallasperhaps?

Maybe some snail mail will grab their interest as I don't think the forums are.

If the Mountain isn't paying attention to Mohammad then Mohammad will drop off reams of prints at the Base Camp.

Although maybe They are reading the forums but Lithium is giving them an "unable to display page" error...
