They nerfed my 'PA' picture, lmao. I was wondering how long it would take them.

What it used to be

For some reason all the ones that get posted in the smuggler forum get changed almost instantly.

I see a few in the JTLS and GAT forum daily... and its the same people.

Why was mine changed and not everyones...

I'm probably to blame.

Was it offensive? No. Is it a deliberate workaround to how the forum mechanics should be? Yes.

So every time I've seen someone abuse it, I notify the mods. I'm over 20+ notifications so far and I'm not slowing down.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Ok then... since you reported mine a few days ago, I've done the same thing to others.

They really need to allow us more freedom to customize our personalities on the forum.

The crap icons they give us needs to broaden in selection.

I agree, but I was starting to see Ren and Stimpy icons and it's not far from that to beavis and porno.

So I act now, to save headaches later.

One thing some of you might not know.

I believea post in the smuggler forum way back is one of the major reasons html coding is disabled for the most part in the lithium software.

I've since taken a no-nonsense approach to it, because it was *really* bad the last time.

Maybe it's all part of one big plan, you know? Like smugglers in a real universe would be used to getting kicked around, have no trust or respect for authority or "the system," would have to band together just to survive, you know? So what SOE does, see, and this is genius, they treat us like shower mold for the first two years of SWG--neglect our profession, break something new every couple months just to keep us on our toes then say they're gonna fix it but never get around to it, ignore all our cries for help or attention. Soon enough we'll lose any hope of help from above and learn to trust no one but ourselves. We'll be the tightest-knit community, one that survives just for the sake of survival, maybe even just to piss off whoever's in charge--just like real smugglers.

June 26 2005, they come in with a smuggler patch so big it breaks your computer, it takes three days to download and your ISP boots you nine times for exceeding bandwidth limits. Glory, glory, at last comes glory: smuggling for PCs and NPCs, specials that work, an opt-in PC bounty system, Jabba and Valarian factions with their own unique perks, spices comparable to food and doc buffs, our own pistol, a field commission for Caylin. Everything is right in Smugglerland. Our profession lives up to all our dreams and we all feel like smugglers, dammit, because we went through the worst the game has ever seen, we were the scum of the galaxy, and while the new guys don't appreciate what that means, the rest of us know, man, we were smugglers when a smuggler wasn't spit. And we might get a little complacent, but that's life, yeah? Just a touch, a whisper of settling down, maybe a few of us start putting on brandy bellies.

But no one forgets. Not one smuggler forgets what we went through, what it took to come to this day. We put up a statue of ElectricNomad in the back of the Mos Eisley cantina, make a pilgrimage once a year. We spend half our playing time on the forums chuckling about the young bloods that weren't around back when a fight between a smuggler and a tailor meant you put money on the tailor. A smuggler's got a smile 23 hours and 55 minutes every day, but when he's staring off at that second sun drop over the Tatooine horizon, he's thinking about all the smugglers that didn't make it, how easy it could have been him lost somewhere over the hills. It could have been him, man.

All because they gave us a purpose. All that neglect, it was so we'd never take anything for granted. All we thought was hate turned out the most bittersweet of love.

Genius, SOE. True and perfect genius.

Yeah, those icons were beginning to annoy me. Especially the people with really wide ones that could mess up the forum tables. I also saw an animated pic of Yoda playing with his walking staff in the least of tactful manners.

It would certainly be nice if people could be trusted to post graphics, but they definitely can't. There's too many morons out there, and unfortunately that ruins it for the rest of us. Oh well.

I thought of throwing in a picture in there but I knew that it would get nerfed pretty fast. I have seen people still who have a picture still in there guild link and I just leave it, unless its offensive but I figure it its star wars related I have no problem.

It would be kind of nice if you could put a picture of your character's face there, but oh well, no big loss.
