What if they added /overt and /covert commands to Master Smuggler to immediately hide or display you and your party'sfaction to the opposing faction at the master box.
I.E. if you're special forces, you use /covert to smuggle people through enemy fire to another area of the battlefield and /overt everyone to open fire in their weakpoint?
Understood that SOE will do nothing to help the smuggler community, but if they were to actually do something this would be cool for them to do.

while it's a neat idea it's one that has too high a 'grief potential' to be trusted to the playerbase IMNSHO

The developers will never take any action on any of our ideas, so they don't have to be realistic heh.
I'm not sure how you'd grief with this though. Both sides have Smugglers. Maybe make it only doable out of combat (so you can't drop /covert while being shot at) or something.
