Thread: A guide for those who have to group with a mezzer
When your group engages either a NPC group or MOB group in a PvE envoroment or a group of players in a PvP situation it's important to not break the work of the mezzers. The first step to this is recognishing what states a target has below it. The colerfull icons that were a result of the combat upgrade make this an easy task but one that 80% of people grouped fail time and time again. You need to recognise the icons that represent the states that the mezzers deliver. A good way to pick this up is to ask them to point the icons out on a safe target so that everyone in the group can see.
We will start with smuggler. Smuggler has 2 powerfull CC abilities in the forum of Concussion shot and PAnic Shot. Concussion shot is a 40 second root+ daze. This means that the target(s) are unable to move/heal/fire/pick their nose for 40 seconds. The icon for Concussion shot looks like a green/white swirl. If you see this icon, don't be a chowderhead and make things harder for your group by breaking it. The second ability Panic shot is a 20 second daze attack. This means that whilet he target is free to move he/she/it is unable to heal or attack during the time period. The icon for this is a man's face looking quite surprised (or dare I say paniced).
Then you have jedi enhancers. These fast moving blurs have the atvantage of running around with force speed and adminisering their speical brand of CC. The enhanser special you need to be aware of is called Stasis. Stasis is eactly like concussion shot in it's effects including breaking on damage.
Cms have paralize (15 sec root/daxe). The icon for paralize looks like a stormtrooper with a pistol out. This like all other CC abilities breaks on damage
The second no-no when dealing with a smuggler in the group is to DOT everything. This will cause the DOT to break the mezzers work everytime it hits creating a frustrating enviroment for the mezzers.
The third no-no is to watch the AOE/cone attacks as these break mezzes. Make sure you know exactly what your attack does before you go wading into combat mashing your buttons like an over excited primate at feeding time.
In conclusion I hope this helps you when grouped with a mezzer. We generally like our role but it frustrates us when people ruin our work. Play along with us and combat will go much smoother for you.. Cause breaking mezzes makes the baby Han cry.

One strategy that has worked fairly well for keeping people under control is to work like this:
Instruct the damage dealers to concentrate fire on a single target, and tell them to work down the lineup in front of you from right to left. To make extra sure, designate a "lead damage dealer" (LDD) for everyone else to follow.
As the crowd-controller, you work from left to right, dropping your mez shots and eliminating everyone from combat except for the target that the LDD is concentrating on. If you see someone dropping DOTs or AOEs on yourCC targets, take the group hostage using your preferred method (diplomacy, intimidation, CAPSLOCK NOTIFICATIONS, etc) until they get the point.
If you have multiple mezzers in one group, find out who has the faster gun and make him the 'designated mezzer'. The other can be a state-dropperwho follows the LDD.Multiple mezzers is messy, and usually ends up with lots of targets with both anger and rage icons on them.
Finally, if you have a Jedi who won't listen to your requests to stop spamming his stinking twirly attack and unconcussioning the group of 10 level 80 voritors and blackscale guards, resulting in incapacitations for everyone, don't be afraid to call him an idiot, retard, or newbie and kick his stupid ass out of your group. It will save you a lot of heartache and might get you to Lord Cyssc faster.
The above is a hypothetical situation and not the result of personal bitterness.

LOL
Step 1: Notify the group of your mez abilities and when you plan to use them.
Step 2: Upon Step 1's failure...Feign Death, and let the group get wiped out.
Step 3: Repeat Step 1.
