I've posted this seperately in the hope it will be seen and others of you will agree with it and not feel so bad about the change:
There's one very fundamental difference between FD in PvE and PvP and it is this: only a player will, in fact only a player CAN continue to attack you after you FD.
The change means nothing in PvE - as soon as you go down the mob will cease attacking. Nothing about the patch note or JustG's statement suggests that mobs will now white bar an fd player. No white barring, no incap, no problem.
It is, as another posted has suggested intended to make the skill useless in PvP. It's a shame really, however, in Everquest the FD skill was the same. Worked like a charm in PvE but meant nothing in PvP. As an aside I can see how the skill may well not have been working as intend, after all, what's the point of allowing a player to continue attacking an FD player til white barred, if there was never an intent to allow the resulting incap/db.
FD has little use in pvp as a tactical tool, outside of posion throwing (and who needs that?). I don't really know of any smuggler who pvp's regular and uses fd while doing so (why wreck your armour for the sake of not being killed). I do not believe that this change will impact smugglers, just jedi padawans and a few CM's. Dabblers. You really gonna let that bother you?

This is sort of incorrect.
All MoBs keep agro on you, even when you Feign Death. When you /stand, they will attack and warp to you from over 1km away even with your buddies whailing on him. Also, if the offending beast/NPC has an area attack, it can still attack you and inflict woulds, DoTs, damage, armor degradation while you are feigning death.
The. Skill. Is. Useless. Period.
I appreciate your efforts though, really. Cool that you're trying to help. But, the glaring, overwhelming facts really outshine even the best of intentions at the moment.

Sorry, but there's a huge difference between a mob continuing to attack you and it simply holding aggro.
I was getting overwhelmed today, took on too many rebel npcs. So I feigned until I regen'd then carried on fighting. Currently the concern is that if the change had been in place I would have been killed, but the fact is no NPC or creature continues to attack once FD has hit. The changes make no mention ofaltering this fact and so will not affect the value of the skill in PvE and the skill in PvP is hardly used, except by dabblers. And I do feel the skill has tremendous value in PvE. I didn't die today several times because of it and when I next take myself krayt hunting I won't die then either

Actually, I meant now. In live. That's how FD works. MoBs who have area attacks like rancor, some NPCs, Krayts, Kimos, ect can still inflict damage on you while you are feigning death.
We're upset that no other solution was considered or communicated to the community to find a balanced and fair fix to the skill instead of just flat out killing it. Not that we can't use it in PvP...it's that nothing is replacing it in PvP.
We have a big ass pot hole taking up half our DF line with no compensation or communication on the change. That's what we're upset about.
