Well, you have to go in order for everything to work. Meaning if you want a Level 4 speed slice, you have to have done the 1-3 speed slices first. I can definately verify this as I have a finely crafted kit and no simple kit. Also, it says in a warning that you can't slice that yet but of course I did have to check just to make sure I couldn't. ![]()
Also, each slice adds a certain amount of customization to the weapon. I am assuming that at 100% you can not add any additional slices. I can't verify this for you as I haven't been able to get more than a couple of the components so far.
I can't remember the exact numbers but I'm pretty sure if you went all the way on speed you'd be capped at 100. 20, 25, 25, 30 I think is how that progression goes.
So, you'll pretty much have to decide reallly which ones you want. I saw the list underseveral of thepostsfor new slicing I think so just add the numbers of the custom side until you hit 100 and you'll know how much you can do.
Currently, I slice my own stuff only for damage. I'm all speeded out. As a rifleman, it might be a bit more important to you, especially since you've only got the one ranged weapon profession. I'm Master pistoleer/master smuggler/carbineer 0440. I'm pretty much at the point with both carbines and pistols where anymore speed is really a waste.
But, the poster above has it right. If you want to do a level 2 slice, you also have to do the level 1 slice. Slices must be done in order. You can't switch lines for higher values. They all start at the bottom. Or top, I guess. I guess if I were you, I'd take the leve 1 damage slice for a 2% increase (which is very close to your stated cap), then dump the rest into speed. You won't be able to get the level 4 speed slice, but you won't have to hunt down a trigger assembly, either.
ok, here's the cut and paste from the other thread. so assuming:
Speed: (Apparently cannot slice over weapons speed cap, this should NOT take customisation points or components if you attempt a slice)Check your cap here!
Level 1 | 2% Increase | 20% customisation | No Components
Level 2 | 4% Increase | 45% customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 3 | 7% Increase | 70% customisation | Finely Crafted Toolset
Level 4 | 12% Increase | 100% customisation | Delicate Trigger Assembly
Damage: (Apparently cannot slice over weapons damage cap, this should NOT take customisation points or components if you attempt a slice)Check your cap here!
Level 1 | 2% Increase | 20% Customisation | No Components
Level 2 | 4% Increase | 40% Customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 3 | 8% increase | 60% Customisation | Illegal Core Booster

assuming this correct, here is my question then (lets set aside all issues of caps...as i want to ensure i understand the system...) say i get a lvl 1 dam slice which gives me a 2% increase...will the next dam slice give me a 4% increase (therefore 6% total now? or would it be a further 2% increase (i.e. not sure if the increase of 4% postedis cumulative or just for that level)...

Bumbers are final stats, lvl 1 dmg gives you 2% speed final, lvl 2 dmg will give you 4% final (adds 2% over the previusly 2%)
