There is hope yet for us at the Village, fellow smugglers. Well, we all know that the newly released Force Sensitive Quests and the abilities that come with them have very little use for smugglers. This should not be surprising to any of us, as, we are, well, accustomed to this sort of thing. Fortunately, many of us are not interested in being Jedi or even force sensitive for that matter. This should not, however, dissuade us from doing what we do best in SWG: Hustling.
Long Story Short: I went to the Village. Roughly about the time that I finished the 20th patrol mission it occurred to me that I didn’t really care to be force sensitive or be a jedi. I dumped a fair amount of XP tp take Novice Combat prowess and got an idea of what it would take to get my 12 Speed and Acc, and realized that I would have NO fun doing this. So, I did what any good smuggler would do at this juncture: Figured out a way to make some money. I checked my inventory: “an Arilion Banner”. I don’t need it, and don’t care if it “blows without the wind” with the force. How hokey. It's metal and fabirc, and valueable. and RARE. So I sold it on the open market.So, I thought, how else could I exploit these goodie-two-shoes Force wielders and their hippie Woodstock Force Lovefest. I was sitting on the ground, staring at my flaming speeder (those patrol missions take forever.) Then I noticed that lots of people had messed up speeders and it hit me like bad pixie: An old friend of mine sells swoops for cheap. So, a few shuttle hops later, I’m back at the Village with all the swoops I can carry.
I heard the cries:
“I need a swoop! Anyone have extras?”
“My swoop bit it. I need another one”
“This patrol will take forever without a swoop!”
And, my fellow hustlers, I answered alright. “Swoops for sale! 45 k”
“45k, that’s a lot of money!”
“Wow, you’re swoop is pretty messed up there, sister, doesn’t look like it’ll make it”
“Yeah, but 45 k!”
“You’re a Dancer?”
“Yeah”
“It’s a long walk back to that science outpost. Like, 6 k.Lots of Nightsisters out there… and rancors…”
“But that’s so high!”
“Look, kid, there’s a line behind you and I only got so many of these things…”
“I’ll take two”
“I thought so”
“Wow, you’re swoop is pretty messed up there, sister, doesn’t look like it’ll make it”
“Yeah, but 45 k!”
“You’re a Dancer?”
“Yeah”

Now, I could have given them out at cost. And I didn’t have to inflate the prices by over double. But daddy needs a spaceship in 2 months…
Rest assured, my friends, there are things for us at this Village, we just need to look a little harder…

Awesome, lol. I've been thinking of hanging out there with my master smuggler title up and see who bites for slices.

I just realized, we are talking about overpricing things, smuggling and peddling spice, in a JEDI village. We are truly scoundrels, dirty rotten scoundrels. I love it.

I love this post. When I first got to the village the first thing I started to do was case the joint as well. Here we have an out of the way place with no player cities around for support filled with powergamers that both tend to be in a hurry and carry a lot of credits around. Setting up a "conveinence store" there seemed like an obvious thing to me as well. A doctor could make a fortune overcharging for buffs. Who'd want to drive all the way back to the outpost just to wait for the shuttle and wait in line for a buff in Coronet when there is a helpful doc here charging 5x the normal price and saving all that time and annoyance.
Selling swoops is a great idea. Spice crates could also have a purpose to these folks. Medical supplies like stims could be good. Slicing of course. Price gouging is profitable as long as the speed and ease of use is there to make up for the price difference.
