Sorry, I was tired and that wasnt clear. I mean people can pay the smuggler to drive a jedi's visibility up and onto the terminals more.

That's so evil I love it. But the potential for griefing..perhaps a limit on the number of times in a period of time this can be done to a jedi.

I prefer this:
Smuggler slices the Bounty Hunter terminal to lower anyone's visibility, however, failure drives up the Smuggler's visiblilty. Make it a type of slicing that clamps won't work on, because its not the clip two wires slice.
Possibly, when player bounties get implimented, allow Smugglers to place bounties on other players, but circumventing the part where they have to post the credits, or possibly post much less than the actual reward(e.g. only a third of the total bounty).
However, to keep people from just picking up terminal slicing to use this as a sorce of income, make it a Master Skill.

Yeah, sorry, obviously putting a jedi's ass out in the wind is gonna hafta be a master thing. Also, I was thinking that maybe the resources or tools required to do it would be really, really rare. Perhaps even a loot drop item off a random humanoid. Some kind of random computar part that is needed, and is one time use. I really don't like artificial things like SORRY, YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS ONCE A DAY. BBZZZT. I would much rather have it be a game mechanics thing, where the ability to do it is something rare and hard to get.

I am not a smuggler, but if I were, I would want to feel more connected with the actual underworld. Like I have access to information and resources no one else can get, etc.
Some random ideas I had:
-Smugglers should be able to slice BH mission terminals, for a fee, of course. They should be either able to INCREASE or DECREASE the visibilty of a jedi by a certain amount. (I think I read somewhere that visibility is what determines how often you show up on mission terminals and the sum of your bounty, right?) For a certain amount of money, they might even, luck willing, to get your name completely off the terminals for a day or so. Perhaps this should require a special slicing item with expensive resources, I dunno.
-Contacts. A smuggler can research and spend credits to find a CONTACT for another player. This would be a one use item, with the difficulty and price based on how specific the user wants the info. Lets say I am an artisan and I want, very specifically, a high concentration spot of RANDOM RESOURCE. Well, I pay the smuggler, the smuggler might spend a day or two researching, and then give me a name and a waypoint. I would go talk to that NPC somewhere, and they would give me my info. In this case a waypoint to a high concentration, a concentration that spawns when I get there, so it's not all super camped with double ended earth humpers already. If I am a combat class, I could pay him to find information about where particular creatures might spawn, powerful creatures instead of stuff I can get from mission terminals. So if I want to know the date and time and exact location of a krayt dragon spawn or something, I have to pay a good chunk, but when I get to that spot, there's guaranteed krayts.
-Slicing. Slicing should take TIME. And MONEY. The time and money spent = better slices, still with a huge chunk of randomness. For slicing, the smuggler should have to have the armor for a good period of time, and use crafted smuggling items that a subject to serious experimentation. Also, they should probably be able to choose speed/dmg/enc.
-Rumors and Gossip. Certain levels of smuggler allow a certain number of gossipmongers, heh. Each smuggler would have specific ones, although obviously some might be shared. Every few days/weeks, the contact might have an iiiiinteresting bit of info. If it's something really good, he might even e-mail the player. The info would be something like the location of a person or tough NPC that's supposed to be carrying some specific valuable loot. In fact, perhaps there would be loot that could be ONLY acquired this way. The smuggler will probably have to pay for the details of course. Then, since the good stuff will probably be too hard for him to take on alone, he will have to get a team together, and entice them with whatever terms he can manage. The major loot, however, should auto-spawn in the smuggler's pack upon mission completion, so no ganking is allowed.
I dunno, I think if I were a smuggler, I would want to feel like I had my fingers in every pie in the galaxy. Anyway, just some ideas.

With some fleshing out some of those ideas show real promise. Specifically the gossip/contacts one and BH term slicing. 5* for you!

When you say increase a jedi's visibility, did you mean if you fail when slicing the terminals? Or did you mean increase it to get a jedi put on the terminals?
